Time for an intervention
Today, my dad wrecked yet another car by driving drunk. He's now in jail and has a broken arm. I've begged my family to help him get sober, but they just say, "Stop your americanized bullshit, he's fine, this is how we do in the old country." I'm scared he's gonna get someone killed. FML

Time to call Adult Protective Services; your family is at minimum complicit to his alcoholism, at most enabling him. If APS can't help directly, they can advise you as to who can.

You can't "Help someone get sober" if they don't want to get sober. but maybe they can hide any car keys.

You can help an alcoholic get sober if they'll accept treatment and fully commit to therapy and working on a treatment program for the rest of their lives. But you can't force someone to get sober. It has to be their choice.
