Today, I found out that I have three weeks to get better at my shitty job before we start discussing my "future" with the company. FML

Today, I was notified that I'm being discharged after two weeks because my employers don't have the time to train me at my first real job in six years. FML
Today, after being told two weeks ago that my contract would be renewed, my boss managed to tell me that actually he had other applicants for the job. I will be let go, but he offered me two months extra so I could finish the projects he had me working on. FML
Today, I finalized my new car purchase after three months on the job at a new company. Two hours later, I was informed that my position has been eliminated. I have two weeks to find a new job or I'm completely screwed. FML
Today, I found out my job is trying to get me to quit. FML
Today, after three weeks of my boss telling me how much he appreciates my hard work and has submitted my name up for a promotion, he called me into his office to announce I'm being laid off. FML
Today, I was supposed to start a new job. I had accepted a new position with a different company three weeks ago, and gave my notice. At the time, I even trained my replacement. Today, I found out that my new work doesn't need me anymore. So, I'm unemployed. FML
Today, it's been less than a week since I finally got a job, after over a year of searching. I just found out that there's about to be a wave of layoffs. I haven't even gotten my first paycheck, and already I'm going to lose my job. FML
Today, I found out I have a job interview coming up. For the job I'm currently doing and have been for the last nine months. My manager told me not to expect too much. FML
Today, I found out I'm getting a pay cut, a week after I told my boss I need a raise or second job just to afford bills. I made the company 10k last week. FML
Today, I got a badly-needed job at a local discount store. After being hired, I found out I'm to help with the soon-to-begin store closing sale, and I'll be jobless again after 3 months. FML

It doesn’t matter what job you do, do your best. That reference will help get you out of a shitty job.

do a good job, get the reference and try for a better job. rinse and repeat until you have a job you like/ pays a decent wage. like anything else, why should you get the best job with no experience, willingness to work for it. it sucks but it pays off long term... or change fields, I have had to do that so have many after realizing the field got stagnant in changing times.

One of the best things that ever happened to me was failing a job interview. Shortly after was offered a job in my field for 2x what the failed job was offering. You shouldn't submit yourself to a job you think is shitty.

In my experience this usually means they've already decided to fire you but they have to go through the motions of supposedly giving you a chance to get better to satisfy some corporate HR policy. Might as well just have fun and totally goof off for three weeks.
