Today, I went on a camping trip. I already had a bad back, and then the guy in charge took us on a hike. My shoes were too small, and now I'm hobbling around with a bad back and foot. Every time I limp, it hurts my back, but if I walk normally, it hurts my foot. FML

Today, I rescheduled my doctor's appointment for a tetanus shot to go camping with my friends. While running on a path at the camp site, I stepped on a rusty nail that went right through my shoe and into my foot. Maybe I should have kept my appointment. FML
Today, I went on a camping trip with my friends, but forgot to bring sunscreen. I spent the entire day outside and ended up with a severe sunburn all over my body. The pain is unbearable and I can't even move without yelping as if I was slowly being cooked in an air fryer. FML
Today, I went on a hike. It had snowed the night before so I wore warm clothes. They didn’t help when I slipped and broke my leg. FML
Today, I tried to walk on the sidewalk. Actually, it was so slippery that I had to shimmy across it. Then I shimmied too quickly and fell down. Now everything hurts. Maybe next time I should bring a sled. FML
Today, three days into my vacation, I ended up spraining not one, but BOTH of my ankles. Now my entire vacation will be spent healing. FML
Today, I had to run for the train, but because of my bad foot and limping they held the train, much to people's displeasure. No one let me sit down, so for the 20 minute journey, I stood. With a bad foot. FML
Today, I had my first real break from work in ages, so I decided to go hiking. Less than 20 minutes in, I tumbled a couple hundred feet down a steep hill, broke my leg and several toes, and lay there in agony for an eternity before I was finally rescued. FML
Today, my legs were really sore from working out yesterday, so it hurt going down the stairs at work. To avoid the pain, l ignored how stupid I looked and limped down the staircase. When I finally got to the bottom, I hopped off the last step. And twisted my ankle. FML
Today, I twisted my left ankle while walking back home because there was a hole that I couldn't see, because grass covered it up like a pitfall trap. Did I mention 25 years earlier I twisted my right ankle (twice)? I just hurt my only fully functioning foot. FML
Today, I was feeling stressed about some upcoming exams, so I went on a nice relaxing nature walk through the nearby bushland. I slipped off a rock and landed in knee-deep mud that claimed my shoe when I pulled my leg free. I'm even more stressed now. FML

People I don't think he knew he was gonna go hiking. He probably just thought they were gonna camp, but the person in charge made him go. Also since there's a person in charge, it must've been a tour guide or something because if you go camping with your friends there isn't really someone in charge

Maybe, but when I've gone camping in the past we slept on the floor in sleeping bags. Getting down on the floor, sleeping on the floor, and getting up off the floor don't sound to great for someone with a bad back. Although they might have stayed in a cabin or something.

That's why you tell the person in charge that you have a bad back and really can't go on a hike. If they don't listen then they're a piece of shit for making someone with a bad back go on a hike.

This is why God made cots. Coming from someone with a bad back. I can't help you with the hiking though. I guess maybe some proper fitting footwear, moleskin, and walking poles.

Except that if he was hiking and wanted a cot that would mean they would have to carry said cot which would add a bunch of weight to the pack making the hike harder

Unless this was a spontaneous hike, it seems like it would be a terrible idea to ever wear incorrectly sized shoes while hiking or doing any prolonged walking.

Why in the heck would you go out with shoes that don't fit? I understand dealing with a bad back while camping, but you should know your shoe size. Even if you bought new shoes for the trip, you would of tried them on.
