Spooky
Today, I work as a RGN in an old victorian-style nursing home. Due to Covid-19, we've lost many residents, one passing just the night prior while I was with him. This morning, the TV turned on its own at nearly 4 a.m. in the lounge, and one of the HCAs reported stuff falling off in the corridor. FML

Who ya gonna call...?

Guys come on there’s all kinds of shit that exists that we can’t see. Imagine trying to explain atoms and molecules to a Neanderthal, without having a microscope. Or imagine if humans didn’t have a sense of touch - we wouldn’t be able to feel wind, but we’d see shit blowing around. I believe in science, wholeheartedly, and I also believe in unexplained phenomena. We just don’t know how to detect certain things yet. Ever have someone walk into a room with it really shitty energy and notice it infects other people in the room? The whole mood changes even after they leave. An analogy would be if a grotesquely odorous person walked in and left a stench behind. If we didn’t have noses, we’d have no idea. Energy can have a presence and effect, too, even if we can’t measure it. We don’t yet have the science to explain everything, but we can and will if our species lasts long enough (I’m having more doubts on that front, but that’s another story).

So you’re trained in sciences but believe in ghosts...

Science does support the existence of ghosts.

Not real science.

Incorrect on all counts. Supernatural things cannot happen. And things we can't detect aren't on earth. There is always a scientific explanation for strange events.

I don't think you understand what this person is getting at. She is saying we don't have the technology to prove or disprove the science behind this. Remember when people didn't believe the earth was round or when people thought leeches would suck the evil spirits out of you that caused you to get sick? Same concept here.

Well, that sucks. I’m sure since you were nice to that person you are safe from his/her poltergeists

RGM and HCA stand for what?

Must be the spirit of all these residents who died due to the Disease. Sounds like them turning the TV on, getting plates from the cupboards, ordering pizza, looking at the future new arrivals, flipping through magazines, etc.

And?
