Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, while I was flying on American Airlines back from visiting family, a newborn puked its breakfast all over my HP mini, knocked my orange juice into my lap, then coughed up another layer on top of it all. I couldn't change my pants because of we were about to experience turbulence. FML
Today, my one-year-old son threw up on the man sitting next to us on a plane. I felt bad and apologized profusely. When I tried to give him money for dry cleaning, he slapped me. FML
Today, on my airplane ride home, the woman next to me wasn't feeling too well. She pulled out the air sickness bag to throw up into and missed. Her vomit splattered all over the seat in front of her and all over me. We were both covered in puke. And that was only my first of two flights. FML
Today, I took my toddler on a flight alone for the first time. I packed snacks, toys, everything. Thirty minutes after takeoff, he threw his juice straight onto my lap, then screamed for the exact snack I'd forgotten. The passenger next to me offered tissues and said, “First time?” I nodded, covered in sticky apple juice, for the next two hours. FML
Today, I fell violently ill half an hour into a flight. I got sick so suddenly that I projectile vomited all over my clothes and the seat in front of me, and to top it all off, I also got diarrhea. Eight more hours to go. FML
Today, I was on an airplane back from California. I decided to check out my new $1500 MacBook that I bought the day before. My son decided to projectile vomit all over me, my new computer, and my bag. None of it got on him. FML
Today, on a plane home from Ireland, my husband who was severely hungover, vomitted in a bag before we took off. When he got up to put the bag in the bin the stewardess forced him to sit back down. I had to hold on to a bag full of vomit for a good few minutes whilst my husband was passed out. FML
Today, I was on an early flight home after a night of drinking. I was sat in my seat when I started feeling sweaty and nauseous. I grabbed the puke bag and started gagging, then puking, and a really loud fart came out. Everyone heard it. The attendant switched me seat to sit alone. FML
Today, I have four flights. I spent last night projectile vomiting with food poisoning. By the time I got to the airport it had progressed to liquid diarhea. Two flights in, I got my period. FML
Today, I was sick on an airplane. As we were taking off, I felt like I was ready to hurl. I was sitting in the window seat and was unable to get up in time to go to the bathroom so I was forced to grab the nearest container to puke in. It was a glass of juice belonging to the woman next to me. FML

Or sew together a new backpack or come up with the money for one.

Or the parents can clean it like the first comment says. Alternatively, they can pay for a new one.

It's a toddler. They get sick. It's not the parents' fault.

The parents are still responsible for the repercussions. They ought to clean it up after their little one

The parents are still responsible for the repercussions of their baby's actions. They ought to clean up after their little one

The kid is the parents' responsibility. Also, letting the kid get close to the OPs backpack means they weren't keeping him in control.

It may not be the parents' fault, but it is certainly their responsibility to deal with the aftermath

Then whose fault is it?

Flying with a kid can easily be a nuisance. Sure, a kid can get sick, but usually you can tell if they are, and it is the parents' fault for not making sure their kid doesn't throw up on someone's stuff.

I would have demanded from the parents the amount of money if would have costed to replace the backpack. You shouldn't be inconvenienced because someone else doesn't know how to use a condom.

Wow.

This is why I'm glad I don't have kids.

Nah, having your own kids isn't bad. It's other peoples' kids you want to stay away from you.

Why is your backpack not in the overhead compartment?

It could have been worse: they could have thrown up _in_ your backpack.
