Today, my mom had to go off on my grandmother because I don’t have kids yet and she, "wants great grand babies before she dies." My grandmother was going to gift me a baby outfit for me to get another hint. I’m 25 and can’t conceive because of health issues. I may never have my own kids. She knows. FML

I'm so sorry for you for having to deal with this. I'm about your age with fertility issues. Some of my family has become more understanding with this. Some I think never will. Thankfully, when you have children is your choice, on your own time, and adoption is an option when it is time.

I’m sorry you have to deal with this. My sister has fertility issues as well and everyone keeps asking her when she will have kids too. I hate seeing the crushes look in her eye everyone people bring it up. I have offered to carry her children for her.

Adopt some pets. Use that current crazy-person jibber-jabber and call them "fur babies." Your grandma will be able to die happy (and hopefully soon and leaving you a substantial inheritance.)

I'm sorry to hear that! I got a friend with fertility issues, who after two failed pregnancies was told by her mother 'There are a lot of children in the world who does not have parents. The fact that you can't conceive yourself does not mean that you can't have children' and she got two girls from Korea today, and says adopting them is the best thing she has done, so that's a good alternative. But, I wish you the best of luck, both with your grandma and your own family!

I'm sorry you're continually going through this with her, OP. Tell your grandmother in no uncertain terms it's not happening, at least not biologically if you do want children. If she still refuses to acknowledge you, that's her problem. In any case, having children is your decision and, outside of your potential partner's, nobody else's business.

Your grandma's a damn jerk. And really, OP, you do not need that kind of negativity in your life.
