Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, over half of my coworkers have called out for various reasons and my manager is on her third week of vacation. My coworkers keep calling out. I'm the only closer. I just want a day off. FML
Today, my manager told me to throw out some of the old toys at the daycare we work at. I can't because I've seen Toy Story 3, and thinking about them in a dump makes me cry. I'm 28. FML
Today, I was informed that- despite an already skeletal staff- my supervisor is leaving the company. Tomorrow. FML
Today, exactly 19 seconds after I logged on, my boss Zoom-called me to let me know 3 people are out sick, probably until Monday, so if I wouldn’t mind doing their work as well so we don’t fall behind, within working hours, no overtime available. He wasn’t happy when I told him no. FML
Today, the store I work at got shut down and I got let go. Three days ago I got a promotion and a raise. FML
Today, Club Penguin finally shut down. I then got a call from one of my employees, who said that he needed to take a day off from work to, "emotionally deal with the issue." FML
Today, at the job I've had for eight years, I finally got the raise I was supposed to get a year ago. One hour later I found out the store was closing and we were all out of a job in two weeks. FML
Today, 30 minutes before I was supposed to quit work at 6pm, my boss showed up. After telling him how the day went, he asked why I was still there. Apparently, for the holiday, we close early. 4 hours earlier. FML
Today, my boss announced that instead of holiday bonuses being on the cards, the company is going under and we'll all be out of a job next year. FML
Today, I requested two hours off for tomorrow afternoon. My supervisor and manager called me into the office to talk to me about how important it is to be in the office as much as possible. A little later, my supervisor told me that for budgeting reasons, I have to take 3 non-paid days off. FML

Reminds me of the FML from a few months back where somebody said that one of their employees called off to deal with the emotional damage due to Club Penguin shutting down.

Then tell them to come in and work since there's no need to worry! Currently, Toys-R-Us has filed chapter 11 bankruptcy, which means it is trying to restructure its (at this time) $5bn debt so that it can pay it. Closing of stores will be few if any at this current time and will be merely considered over during its filing proceedings. :)

But other than that, it's not that big of a loss, every Toys r Us I stepped in were always disorganized and overpriced, not to mention they were full of whiny kids.

Think of the emotional damage they’ll suffer when your company closes because it hired too many infantile slackers.

Hey ... I take offense to that comparison! I'll have you know that some infants are in fact quite hard working ... Like the ones whose entire purpose in existence seems to be in order to ensure that mom and dad will never again get a good nights sleep!!!

But Toys *R* Us! When you take them away, we R nothing (except an extremely complex string of carbon by chance fostering life and truly being a wonder miracle of the universe)!!

When toys R us is going down, you know the economy is shit.

Yeah, how the heck can you expect me to be a Toys R Us Kid when there might no longer be a Toys R Us?

How old are your employees?

I work at toys r us and have since October of 2016. I'm worried I may lose my job. If my store closes, I'm sure going to miss it.

This is what happens to you when you violate child labor laws.
