Today, I got fired from my job for harassing customers over the weekend. I didn't work over the weekend. I left my nametag there on Friday and my co-workers thought it would be funny to wear my nametag all weekend. One of them got into a fight with a customer and they took her 'name' down. FML

You can easily prove your innocence. Now if you tried that and still got fired, then it's a FYL.

file a complaint. prove that you weren't on the schedule for that day. then report your coworkers.

LOL #9's comment just made me laugh so hard. like #26 said, everyones being helpful and then #9 just comes out of no where with "pour acid on their faces"

I know where i work, you don't need to clear it with a boss to change a shift. So they wear your nametag, say you switched with whoever actually did harass the customer, and the boss doesn't check the time sheet until it's time to count up the hours. It's really not entirely hard to believe this would happen.

That sucks, but couldn't they just check the schedule and see that you weren't even working that day? There had to be a way to check that.

It's very possible her boss didn't know she worked that weekend. My boss (the manager of the store where I worked) didn't do my schedule; the people at corporate did. He didn't have a clue when I worked. But yeah, it should be easy enough to prove your innocence, unless you really did deserve to be fired.
