Today, a former friend of mine, with whom I viciously cut ties a few months ago after I found out she's a narcissist, was one of very few people to wish me a happy birthday. Thanks, but no thanks. FML

Today, I received a "Happy Birthday" text from my ex. I thought maybe she missed me, but when I replied with a polite, "Thank you," they responded with "Sorry, wrong person. However, fuck you." Ouch. Happy birthday to me, indeed. FML
Today, it was my birthday. None of my family members wished me a happy birthday and neither did the 1,000+ "friends" I have on Facebook either. FML
Today, after wishing my closest friend a happy birthday yesterday, he ghosted me without saying anything. FML
Today, it’s almost my birthday. Instead of the big fun celebration I’d hoped to have, I’ve cut ties with most of my deeply toxic friend group. I think being alone is better than being surrounded by fake friends and real enemies, but still… FML
Today, it's my birthday, none of my friends wished me a thing. I spent the whole day crying and then decided to call few of them and sobbingly demanded an explanation. Most of them didn't pick up, the rest called me a drama queen, saying that my birthday isn't as important as I think. FML
Today, I broke ties with a friend of mine. She said I was her only friend and asked me not to interact with others normally. I'd had enough, and asked her not to bother me again. Then I found out that everyone liked her better and left me alone for lunch, even though she's a gaslighter. FML
Today, I invited my only friend to my birthday party and she said no, not because she couldn’t go, but because she didn’t want to. FML
Today, I was victim to not one but two narcissists. I'd totally thought that these people were my friends, but everyone warned me that, "They’re only your friends when they need something from you.” I should’ve listened. I constantly felt like they were just using me. A "Thank you" goes a long way. FML
Today, and thanks to my psychologist, I realized I have yet again wasted years on a one-sided friendship, after said friend cut me out of his life without even speaking to me. The reason? I told him to talk to the people he had issues with before cutting them out of his life. FML
Today, the girl I love who friendzoned me called to talk. She shared the marvelous things she'd done for her friend's birthday, then said, "You had a recent birthday too." Then she laughed. We'd talked multiple times without her mentioning my birthday. She ignored it on Facebook. Time for no contact. FML

People tend to use the term Narcissist apparently without fully understanding what it means. Frankly it sounds like OP is the narcissist and not their former friend.

She's probably just wishing you a happy birthday just so she can tell everyone on social media that she did so and people will think she's a good friend.

Ok, and lol? If this is the biggest FML of your life then you have other issues. You can always like it or say a polite thank you and move on. Not that big of a deal

So this "narcissist" actually made the effort to contact you on your birthday and send you warm wishes, while X amount of others didn't bother, or didn't care enough to remember? This says a lot more about you than it does her, although I guess that may depend on how many people know you well enough to offer their own wishes for your birthday.

I have a friend like this also. She finds a way to make everything about her, even other people's birthdays. Happened to me last year, it was awful.
