Not coming
Today, I asked my mom not to bring her dog to my wedding, since he's a real pain in the ass. She told me not to worry about it because she didn't feel like going anyway. FML

Well I guess that's two bitches you don't have to worry about bringing down your special day, congrats though OP

People who bring dogs that aren't service dogs everywhere are total assholes. They really ruin it for responsible dog owners who want to have their dogs in dog-friendly spaces. I'm sorry your mom isn't coming to your wedding... but at least the dog stays home where he belongs.

Well congratulations on your engagement and upcoming wedding!!! I do agree with a few though, if she's going to be ignorant like that then you don't need there to put a damper on your big day. Yet at the same time it sucks donkey dick that she is still putting a damper on your day by being an ignorant childish cunthair. So when do you tie the knot???

Ignorant childish cunthair is now my new favorite insult, thank you for that.

hard truth, your mom needs to respect your values

When your own mother chooses an animal over her child, she doesn't deserve either.

Well, I don't remember YOUR wedding day being all about HER. I'm a dog lover but this just seems like a power move on your mum's part. Don't budge. Put an end to it.

Even though that's probably really hurtful, maybe its good that you no longer have a guest that will make your day miserable. Sounds like she's not a pleasant person to be around.

I don't understand bringing dogs to non-dog related events anyway. I have an aunt who brings her dog out to eat and leaves him in the car with the windows open while they're in there. It's like what's the point?

The fact that you have to ask in the first place means that your mother doesn't understand polite behavior. You don't randomly show up to a party of any kind with your dog, unless the invitation is extended to your dog.
