Did he seem to want to have sex and/or be ready before your "big announcement"? If he was interested before it might simply be performance anxiety and not a long term issue - Assuming you were clean and groomed "down there". If your boyfriend was not ready for sex and this was mostly your idea, you should have coaxed him along a bit better. Also, laying back and saying "do me" is not as sexy as taking a more active part and getting him aroused. So either you had a massive communication gap or you misunderstood what it is to be "sexy", or your boyfriend is just not ready. None of these have to be relationship killers. Talk it out in private just the two of you and figure out where you are going.
