No BigMac for you

Today, after months of searching for any kind of work, I finally received a call. It was McDonald's, but they said I was overqualified for the position. I thought they took anyone with a heart rate. Apparently not. FML

Fall

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.

It's interesting that they bothered to call you. These days, most employers don't even bother to send a form letter -- they just ghost rejectees.

It most likely meant that they figured by assessing you, that you wouldn't be long term and didn't want to risk training and having you leave in 3 months. On top of usually refusing if they're not actively looking at that location, is if you have a large resume with more meaningful tasks written down and prior experiences. You'll get bored compared to what you're used to doing. Or, you know, they just said it to be nice when you weren't a good fit at all. Good Luck!

Since when does McDonald's search for long time workers? More likely, they thought that you weren't a people's person or couldn't work fast enough.

Long time, food service/retail especially fast food has a high turn around. Last of the employees are young still in high school, leaving for college or are old enough where the odds of them leaving isn't a concern.

Da-da-da-da-da!! They're hatin' you.
