Today, my boyfriend gave me a $100 gift card for Victoria's Secret. Suspicious, I checked the receipt he'd left in the bag. Turns out he had bought it during the two weeks we were broken up for some other girl who rejected him, so decided to give it to me instead. FML
Today, my ex told me about how much the person she left me for loves the lingerie I bought her. FML
Today, my boyfriend gave me lingerie from Victoria's Secret. He then added that his mother picked it out. FML
Today, I found out that my ex gifted a special handcrafted necklace I made for him to his new girlfriend. She wears it on all her socials. FML
Today, I found out that my boyfriend wrote 50 dollars on my gift card just to look generous, it's really only worth five. I found this out after I tried to buy an arm full of clothes. FML
Today, I got to spend the entire day shopping for lingerie with the man of my dreams. He bought everything I'd ever wanted and more! Too bad it was for another woman. FML

Today, my girlfriend and I decided to exchange presents for our birthdays. I spent $100 on perfume and Victoria's Secret clothes. She bought me a bag of lifesavers, then asked me to leave because she wanted to take a nap. FML
Today, I bought my girlfriend a very expensive necklace. I gave it to her thinking she'd be extremely happy. Instead she was mad at me because my gift for our anniversary was better than hers. FML

You should written her a song instead. You'd save $100 and get a free restraining order. And the knowledge that your ex and her new man are having endless laughs at your horrible song, and then lots of sex.

It’s simple - Don’t buy gifts for an ex. You could send a card or a text on a birthday or something (even that’s not a great idea, but it’s less creepy than a gift for an ex). The short version is your ex has moved on. You need to do so too. Time and attention spent on an ex just takes away from the possibility of finding your next love interest. And lingerie for an ex is just creepy.
