@11, you're the idiot. Isn't it possible that the employee had a match/lighter ready? The OP could have turned around and before he could do anything, the employee moved his hand about 2 inches onto his tie. Try thinking.

No tie would just burst into flames. It would take at least a couple of second of direct flame being applied to the tie for it to catch light. Unless it was somehow pre-soaked in flammable liquid.. which again I am sure he would have noticed. You telling me you wouldn't notice a hot spot on your front (from the match/lighter)? If so then your an idiot. Why don't you try thinking first.

Actually, #12 has a point. You won't always notice. My brother and I used to light eachother on fire in random places without noticing. and with a tie? That's not even *on* the body. It's a little further away. Entirely plausible, considering I've burned someone's pants while burning them. Maybe you just suck at making fire.
