Movie going
Today, a man kept talking and laughing like an idiot all through the movie I was watching. I thought he was high, so I called him a moron and told him to shut the hell up. It turned out he wasn't high. He was just "special". FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, at the cinema, I sat next to a guy who couldn’t stand a minute without laughing or making comments about the film. FML
Today, at my job as a movie theater attendant, my boss finally eased up and let me sit in on one of the movies. One woman kept laughing out loud every other line. After ten minutes of her braying like a dying horse, I got up and had her ejected from the theater. I'm a terrible person. FML
Today, I was sitting in a theater waiting for the movie to start when a hot guy sat next to me. Trying to impress him, I made seemingly witty comments to my friend throughout the movie. When it ended, he loudly complained to his friends about the 'annoying girl' sitting next to him. FML
Today, my best friend and I went to the movies. There was a hot cashier, so I thought it would be cool to talk in a British accent to try and be sexy. I walked up and started talking when he interrupted me and said in a very heavy British accent, "I know you're faking. You can stop now." FML
Today, I was having a rough day, so I decided to go to the movies to unwind. 15 minutes in, some assmunch behind me said "This movie sucks!" then dumped his drink over my head and ran out. FML
Today, I gave a big presentation at work, hoping to impress my boss and angle for a promotion. I was already nervous, but a co-worker at the back kept making goofy faces, causing me to repeatedly break into laughter. My boss accused me of being high, and suspended me on the spot. FML
Today, I was talking to a guy when he pointed behind me and said, “Hey, what’s that?” I looked behind me and he burst out laughing, saying he “can’t believe I’m so stupid that I still fall for that old trick.” We were having a conversation, not a physical fight. FML
Today, I was on a date, and I tried breaking the ice by telling him my best joke. He laughed hysterically for a good 10 seconds, started beating the table with his fist, then suddenly went deadpan and said, "No, seriously, you're a moron. Screw this date." FML
Today, I went to the movies with my friends. All throughout, some guy kept making weird sounds and breathing deeply. Midway through the movie, he got even louder. Just as I was about to snap, chunks of vomit sprayed over my chair and shoulders. FML
Today, I watched a movie with my little sister. I couldn't understand a word that was said during one scene, but I figured it was in some kind of made-up language. When I commented on it later, she called me a moron and said it was Spanish. FML

The best thing to do when someone's being disruptive in a theater is to go find an employee. They're able to get people to quiet down or leave (if necessary) without bothering other theatergoers.

Not trying to sound mean, but if he was there with someone, shouldn't they have tried to shush him?

Did you ask politely first? If you did and the noise didn't stop, then you were (sort of) justified. I say "sort of" because calling someone a moron isn't really necessary when a simple, "Hey, shut up!" will suffice. You sound like you're a bit of a jerk, but you still had no way of knowing he was special needs.

Even if he wasn't mentally disabled, you should be more polite before you call someone a moron. YDI

When you complain of someone else spoiling your fun, whether you are in the theater or a restaurant, or even at the mall, you are always the "bad guy." There is no help for this in today's society. When a tall individual sits in front of you at the theater and refuses to remove his or her hat, you can't ask them to do so because it's entirely possible that said hat has religious significance. So, you're stuck. If you feel a bit cheated at having paid a premium for your seat and having your fun spoiled, vote with your money. Leave, ask for refund, and come back another day. You have only those choices: be the "bad guy" and fetch a manager or ask the individual to stop spoiling your fun, or leave, being sure to take your money with you. I've had a hostess seat me in a mostly empty restaurant next to a party of many very drunken, loud, revelers. Request for another seat was denied, what else can you do but leave? Don't pay money to raise your blood pressure and feel bad.

Watching a movie is like watching a big tv someone talking quietly isn't going to disturbed you but the person in another row shushing or saying be quite will. What movie did you go see

There was no way for you to know. People with special needs can't be babied their whole lives, it's detrimental. They are supposed to start being integrated into society when most people go to college (with an aide or such). You're fine, don't sweat it.

Stay safe, kids. Don't insult people.

People who are special like that, shouldn't be allowed in a theater. Just like people shouldn't bring babies or small children who might cry, if an adult has a disability where they can't control themselves, they shouldn't go to the movies.

Even 'special' people can often be taught appropriate behaviour in public places. Whoever took him should have put a stop to it, or made him leave. It makes life a lot easier for those people if they can learn what is and is not considered acceptable behaviour. There is no reason everyone else's movie experience should have been ruined to cater to this one person. If they can't be taught, then perhaps a private showing with a group of similarly disabled people would have been better. That way everyone is happy, and nobody would care how much noise was made. People with screaming babies generally remove them from social situations when they are creating a disturbance, and they can't help it. It's just common courtesy. But having said that, whoever said go get an employee to deal with it was right.

at least you didn't call him a retard.
