Indoctrinated
Today, I realized that because of my construction job, I have spent such a huge amount of time with older, cynical guys that I keep uncontrollably using the phrase "fucking kids these days" regularly like an idiot. I'm 18. FML

Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, a student of mine used the phrase "well, you know, like back in your day" about defining "going out". I'm only 24. FML
Today, at work I put myself squarely in the lame / old people category when I foolishly asked out loud what FML meant. FML
Today, a cute new guy I always run into at work hit on me. Turns out he's only 18. I'm old enough to be his mom. FML
Today, I used to look so young for my age that in high school, I was regularly mistaken for a freshman. I never succeeded in getting dates because of it. Today, I'm 25 years-old and regularly get confused for being in my thirties. I guess all the stress from work, loneliness, and rejection really caught up. FML
Today, while at my tutoring job, a middle school kid couldn't find a word in the online dictionary. I told him he could check a regular paperback dictionary. His response was, "That's what you did in your day. That's not what we do in our day." I'm only 19. FML
Today, I started a new job. As I was introducing myself during the morning get together with the team, I forgot how old I was, and panicked. I ended up saying I was "twenty-fine." I’m 27. FML
Today, I found out that the 19-year-old I've been seeing is really 26, with two kids and a pregnant fiancée. I'm only 17. FML
Today, I, a person who will be 21 in a few months, was mistaken for my mom's older brother. My mom is in her fifties. Apparently this is becoming increasingly common, because the world sucks. I didn't realize it was affecting me this badly. FML
Today, while I was in a bathroom stall, I overheard my younger coworkers discussing my age. They said, “How old is she? Some days she looks like she's 35 and other days she looks like she's 58!” FML
Today, man do I feel old. For the first time ever, a teen thug with more acne spots than brain cells told me to, “Piss off grandad.” Grandad? Guess I look older than I feel. FML
Feel like sharing it with the other FML users?
Thanks, your FML was submitted, and will appear in the moderation queue soon!

You might want to avoid playgrounds and/or schools.

Learn to hate the world early, it'll save you a lot of time learning the hard way.

I'm the same way, and I'm also 18. The stuff our generation does will do that to you

At 23 I say the same when I see all theses unemployed kids. There's no reason to be unemployed there are jobs out there if you'd just get off your asses and work

No reason? Hahahaha. Oh gods, I needed that laugh.

It's easy to become conditioned to a new environment. just remember that you were there once OP and, somewhere out there, there's a guy in his forties saying the exact same thing about an eighteen year old. We're all kids to some generation

It's hard to not adapt to your environment but hang more around with your age group that should help

Shit dude I say that all the time and i'm 17, because people my age and younger and even older are ******* retards now.

It's so great that you can see yourself as being among those you refer to as "retards"...give it 22 yrs & then you might finally understand what the phrase "you'll understand when you're older" means....for real. :)

I suppose I am slightly retarded but at least I can admit it, although the comment was not about me the decline of our race is a very serious matter and I don't know what that last part you said was about what I said is the truth people today are mostly idiots but kids are especially. We as a country and perhaps even the world is just going to keep going down hill from here, there is no doubt in my mind about this.( I am sure many people will not like what I have said and I do not care because I believe it and always will no matter what you people say or do)

Even if I was 40 I would still feel the same because it is true.

Now you realise that what they say is true... and that you are one of those kids too! ROFL.
