Today, after buying a new pair of prescription glasses, I went to the beach. The ocean now has a new pair of glasses. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I went to the eye doctor. For the past three days every time I wear my glasses I become nauseous, get migraines, and have that "fish-eye view" where everything is rounded. Turns out they placed my lenses on the wrong sides. FML
Snapped
Today, while I was normally and gently cleaning my glasses with my shirt they snapped in half. This is the second time this has happened, with the exact same glasses. The optometrist got me another pair last time, but this time they said no because it was too suspicious. I now have to buy $150 glasses again. FML
Close up
Today, we decided to go to an aquarium for a little family get-away. At the end was a shark viewing deck, and I leaned over the rails to get a better look. How did I find out that my glasses needed to be adjusted? They fell off and sunk right to the bottom of the shark-infested waters. FML
Life's a beach
Today, I went tanning on the beach. I found a nice spot close to shore and laid there with my towel and sunglasses. A few hours later, I awoke to waves splashing at me. My towel was soaked and my sunglasses must have washed off the shore. Damn high tide. FML
Today, I brought home my 3D glasses after a movie. I had a laugh about it until I realized that I put my $100 sunglasses in the recycle box outside of the theatre instead. FML
Now you tell me!
Today, I went to the eye doctor. He tells me that I've developed a severe allergy to contact lenses and must stop wearing them immediately. It wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't just visited him a week earlier, paid for a new prescription and ordered a year's worth of brand new lenses. FML
Blur
Today, I spent almost 10 minutes cleaning my glasses because everything looked blurry. The problem wasn't my glasses. I was actually wearing my sister's, who apparently got almost the same frames as mine. FML
Today, I woke up, and I could see perfectly. Somehow, during the night, my eyes magically became 20/20. I was overjoyed, until I realized I'd fallen asleep with my glasses on. My eyes are still trash, and I want to cry. FML
Today, I wore a pair of glasses with no lenses because I thought I'd look smarter. I ended up poking myself in the eye several times, leaving it swollen. So much for making me look smarter. FML
Stay safe
Today, after going to the ophthalmologist, I got some really cute glasses. When I got home, my dad saw them and told me that when he was in high school, they called girls with those glasses BC. When I asked what BC stood for, he said, "Birth control." FML

OP had prescription glasses, meaning they can't see without them ;)

yeah i wear prescription glasses and you dont wear them in chlorine or salt water as that can and will damage them, regardless of this simple dumb mistake like trusting your ears to hold against any wave.

And? I have prescription glasses but I don't wear them when I go swimming. If you want to swim and see, get prescription swim goggles.

I do but only if I'm not gonna be doing anything more than walking in it but if I swim at a pool I wear them. or when I shower sometimes.

If you're dipping your feet in the water. I generally don't go swimming in pools or the ocean with my glasses but I'm also not completely blind.

Why would you do that? Was it your first pair? If not, you deserved.

Even with my first pair I was super cautious. Either way I'm always cautious with my glasses because those things cost a fortune.

I also had prescription glasses, so I know how expensive they can be and that sucks, but ydi because 1. You shouldn't have gone into deep water with them. 2. a simple glasses strap would've kept them from falling off. at least you learned for next time right?

That's dumb! What are the chances that the ocean has the same prescription as you? Duh!

you know for like $3 or so they make these little strings that you can put on your glasses when you go out into water so that if they get dislodged from your face the string will keep it from escaping and more often then not you just gotta pick them up from their resting place on your chest

I did not sea that coming
