Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I found out the trigger to my horrendous, disgustingly painful migraines that last up to 5 days is... Pain. My migraines are literally causing themselves. FML
Today, I discovered what it feels like to be extremely constipated while having a vomit-inducing migraine. FML
Today, I was forced to come in to work early in the morning. For me, that means I will have a pounding migraine, vomiting, and diarrhea for at least the next two weeks. FML
Today, I learned that pregnancy makes me more prone to migraines, but the only pain killer I can take makes me vomit. So I have to choose between being in pain and vomiting for hours on end. FML
Today, I was prescribed two different medications. I was also informed that they will both give me diarrhea for the next two weeks. FML
Today, I had my third incapacitating headache this week. This has been happening for months. Pain killers and other remedies seem to work at random, if at all. Nobody has been able to tell me the cause. FML
Today, after nearly three weeks of gastritis, my stomach has finally calmed down and I'm no longer feeling sick all day. Also today I woke up with a debilitating migraine and I can't function without taking pain medication. Guess how my stomach likes that… FML
Today, I figured out why my doctor repeatedly warned me to keep regular bowel movements while I recover from childbirth. I now have an anal fissure. It's like giving birth all over again. FML
Today, I was diagnosed with migraines. Any loud sounds or bright lights make it worse. I'm the drummer for a heavy metal band, so I now have to choose between really bad migraines or a career. FML
Today, I woke up with extreme stomach pains. After being rushed to the hospital and having numerous tests performed, I was told my intestines were over-stretched with stool. I'm essentially so full of shit it hurts. FML
Feel like sharing it with the other FML users?

So you’re saying that you didn’t see that connection on your own, but somehow you gave the doctor information that led them to draw that conclusion? “Doc...I keep getting these terrible migraines. For some reason, they start right after I take a shit. But for the life of me, I can’t figure out what’s causing them...”

Then hold it in! You'll avoid headaches and save on precious toilet paper.

Are you badly constipated or have to push hard trying to shit? That may actually be why. More fiber, take stool softeners too.

...I have suffered from migraines for years with no relief. None of my researching or doctors have ever mentioned this as a trigger. I spend hours and days researching regularly. Constipation and diarrhea can be a sign that a migraine is coming. But they don’t trigger it. If it IS a trigger for you, you should fix your diet because 1. Poor diet causes migraines in a lot of people and 2. If you’re straining, and that causes a headache, then fiber would help. It’s really more likely that a food or foods are your triggers, unhealthy poop and migraines are the outcome.

I have had migraines for years and would get several a week. This was never a possible trigger the doctor mentioned. I would agree that diet does come in to play. Specifically, a link between being magnesium deficient and migraines. I started taking both magnesium and Migra-eeze (by the company Life Extension) and now only get 1-2 migraines a month. I even came off the prescriptions my doctor had me on, and have been off of them for over a year now. Just a suggestion. Take it or leave it.

Are you sure it isn't lack of movements that you should be concerned about?
