Today, I opened a lesson with the phrase, "As we all know, the world is over 4 billion years old." One of my students immediately snorted and said, in all seriousness, that I was wrong, and that the Earth is only 6000 years old. A few of his classmates agreed. I teach geology at university. FML

Today in class I accidentally called my teacher very old and almost dead. As we were discussing a book I said that the book character is very old and close to death since it fitted to the context. Turns out this character is one year younger than my teacher and she wasn't amused. FML
Today, I learned, 90 horrifying minutes into a college exam, that my 85-year-old calculus teacher had spent the last three weeks teaching us the wrong chapter. FML
Today, we were discussing evolution at the super-religious school I'm forced to attend. I mentioned homo sapiens, and my teacher mockingly replied, "You actually believe in homo sapiens? Hahahah!" The whole class started laughing. No, not at the teacher; at me. FML
Today, in astronomy class, a kid used Uranus in a hilarious innuendo. I was the only one who laughed. I also happen to be the teacher. FML
Today, I was teaching a class when a student pointed out that I'd used the wrong "your/you're" while writing on the board. FML
Today, I asked my teacher how old he was, and jokingly I said, "50?" Then he chuckled, so I laughed and said, "I was kidding… 42, 43, 44?" He then looked at me and said, "Are you trying to guess my age, or your grade percent in this class?" FML
Today, I had environmental science class. My teacher doesn't believe humans are affecting climate change or that we should protect endangered species. He slants class discussions so now all my classmates agree with him. FML
Today, while teaching juniors about black holes, I said, "Imagine everything being sucked into a black hole." An African-American student shouted, "I'd better start clenching!" Nobody took the lesson seriously after that. FML
Today, the kids I teach informed me that I had spelled my name incorrectly on the board. I looked at it and assured them that I had spelled it correctly. I'm 22 and a graduate student, they're six and mentally challenged. Guess who was right? FML
Today, my teacher marked a test question wrong, even though I was sure I got it right, so I went online to check. I found a government-approved website showing proof that my answer was correct. My teacher still counted it wrong, because, "We follow the book." That book's older than I am. FML

it's not the fact they are creationists entirely... it's the fact they seem to be the really bad kind. bible didn't say it, it's not real. they believe the bible encompasses all information and anything else is fake... I work with both groups. some believe the bible is a foundation other that it is the entirety of real and true information... we own a CNC machine, they have used it...

Its a religious thing. In sunday school they teach that acording to the bible the earth is only between 6 an 7 thousand years old. So the lesson here is never asume something that is so controversial

This is based on the creation theory that Christians and Jews follow. That earth was created when life was documented to have begun 4000 B.C. when man was first created. Because of a day in God’s time being 1000 years in our time, creation also has a theory that God’s 7 days in the Bible are actually 7000 years. Plus the 6000 years of man’s existence. Making the earth 13,000 years old. The earth being 4 billion years old is just as much of a theory as the creation theory to the eyes of others. So depending on your theory belief, either one could be classified as truth or stupid.
