Today, I got sentenced to 20 hours community service for having a boy in my room an hour after floor hours. If I don't do the community service, I could get kicked out of the dorm and put on probation at my college. We were breaking up. FML

Today, my boyfriend and I got into trouble with his mother for me still being at their house at 1:00 am. I'm 24, he's 22 and we really were studying. FML
Today, my college dormitory accused me of something I didn't do, breaking a law that I never heard of, charged me $200 to fix "what I did wrong", and is forcing me to go to counciling at the school. Not only was I not on campus when it happened, but I was the one who reported the problem. FML
Today, I was given a call home, a 3-day-suspension, and a week of detention in school for a "serious violation of the code of conduct." Said violation? Jogging in the middle of the hall. FML
Today, I was at my job in the Dean of Students office. My boss gave me some papers to copy. As I was copying, I read in a report that my boyfriend was written up for "cohabitation" (having a girl stay over) at my Catholic university. The report was from a weekend I wasn't at school. FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me. It wouldn't be so bad if we weren't stuck rooming together for the rest of a semester that hasn't even started yet. FML
Today, my girlfriend got a detention for public display of affection. We go to different schools. FML
Today, I had to serve my boyfriend's father with a restraining order. FML
Today, I am currently grounded for three weeks, have no car, cell phone, or television privileges, and am not allowed to spend more than 10 minutes on the computer a day. The reason why: I was seven minutes past my 9'oclock curfew. I'm 18. FML
Today, to make my dorm neighbours think I'm popular, I blasted music and screamed at the top of my lungs so it sounded like I was having a party. My residence manager slapped me with a noise violation, and demanded to come in to make sure we weren't drinking. I had to explain why I was by myself. FML
Today, I fell asleep at my boyfriend’s house and missed my curfew. It’s almost 4 a.m. Scrambling, I arrived home to find the locks changed. On the door knob was a note: “Go live with your boyfriend, you slut. See if he cooks and cleans up after you. I’ll help you move out your stuff in the morning. - Mom” FML

That sucks but YDI for breaking the rules, even if you were just breaking up with the guy. It's called a telephone - use it so you don't break the rules by having the guy in your room after hours. Stupid rules but the college probably doesn't want to be held responsible for a bunch of girls getting pregnant or raped or something else they fear will happen if guys are in a girl's room after a certain time.

I approve of you breaking arbitrary rules! Seriously people, it's pathetic that you're all such rule-followers. If there's a good reason for the rule to be in place such as safety or being considerate of others than of course you should follow the rule, but if it's arbitrary, then it's dumb to let it have any power over you. If the OP was being loud, then YDI for interrupting people's sleep because quiet hours do have a purpose, but if they were being quiet, then FYL.

I'm sorry OP but you deserve that one. you knew the rules. and it's not like it was just a few minutes after the floor hours. this was a whole hour. you broke the rule, you do your time. tho I do pity you for the excessive punishment.
