Today, my parents left on vacation for the week. Taking advantage of my freedom, I was planning on having my boyfriend over. My grandparents just showed up as they "thought I would be lonely." I can't get rid of them. Looks like I'm not having any fun this week. FML
Today, my girlfriend and I hosted a family game night with her grandparents and her father, who was bringing his "friend" who he'd been dating for a couple of weeks. It was my mom. FML
Today, my parents tricked me by claiming we were going on holiday, but stopped at grandma"s first, "just to say hi", then left me there with my bags. They dumped me with grandma and went on holiday without me. FML
Today, I went over to confront my parents about how my siblings always get to visit and all I do when I’m over is work on their house or take care of grandma. My mom was very upset. Then she snuck out with my sister, leaving me to take care of grandma until she got back. FML
Today, I was awakened by knocking on my door, only to find my parents standing there. Turns out, they booked two one-way tickets to visit me from another country. Their plan? I should scrap my upcoming 2-week vacation to hang out because they invested in this trip. Oh, and they didn't book a hotel. I'm 31. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I moved into our own house. He proceeded to invite his parents to stay for the week. The same parents we've lived with for the past 5 years. FML
Today, my parents invited all their kids and grandkids to join them on a vacation trip to the mountains; all their kids except me, that is. I'm not invited. But they did invite my ex-husband. And his new girlfriend. FML
Today, I came home after spending the past two months at summer camp, just for my parents to excitedly announce that I'm going to be spending the next two weeks in Florida with my grandma. We have to leave in literally a couple hours. FML
Today, I flew my wife, myself and three kids to pay a surprise visit to my parents who were going to be alone for Christmas. When we arrived, we found out they decided to go on vacation. We have nowhere to go. FML
Today, my girlfriend told me she’s visiting her male friend for her birthday. I told her I’m fine with it, but I'm really not. She’s going to spend a few days with him. FML

12, I don't think he meant she's not allowed round, just there's a big difference in spending time with your girlfriend when his parents are there to when they're alone. Also, the girlfriends parents may be okay with her staying at his? Doesn't say anything about sneaking around behind their parents' back.

If the girlfriend isn't shy and your grandparents aren't that socially conservative, just invite her over anyway and do things with her. Keep the noise down a little, but make it so that your grandparents will at least start taking trips to local attractions on a regular basis.

They don't necessarily have to have sex just because they're together, there are other things couples can do, for example, have a nice chat with the grandparents, they seem like they're nice people from the gesture.

I'm working on the assumption that, if one was inviting ones partner over for time alone in an empty house, and then grandparents came over, and that this was an FML, they would be planning to do things people would not do with their grandparents in the house. I mean, they could be planning to play Grand Theft Auto, or drink out the entire liquor cabinet, or crossdress and have a nerf gun fight - and those are all awesome activities - but sex is kind of the first thing that springs to mind.

I like going to my boyfriend's house when there isn't anyone around. It doesn't mean we're going to have sex; we just enjoy being alone together and spending that time cooking and watching tv. Why we enjoy being alone just to do trivial things is beyond me, but it just feels nice :)

I bet your grandpa would make very good wolf whistles at your girlfriend. It's not hard to keep grandparents away, just give them a game of monopoly and they'll tire out pretty quickly. Then your girlfriend and yourself can "spend time together" ;)
