Dumpster diving

Today, my boyfriend found the box of photos I've been saving for my daughter. He was convinced I was pining over her father and emptied the box into the dumpster behind our apartment. I'm still not done digging through the garbage to find the photos from the day my daughter was born. FML

Halloween

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.

I think I would leave a partner that irrational!

Total disrespect for someone's property and boundaries is a classic sign of abuse, and combined with rabid jealousy, this doesn't bode well.

as a guy, leave him if he's this irrational frequently. if it's a one off out of the blue freakout it could just be his paranoia, maybe discuss it with him if it's the latter.

I'm not usually one to say people should break up but damn, there's certainly reason. He doesn't respect your belongings, he put them in the garbage and his reaction to jealously is way over the top. I damn sure hope at the very least he helped you get them out of the garbage.

Make him dig through the dumpster. Then leave him! thats no man...

I'd throw his pathetic ass out onto the street. Both you and your daughter deserve so much better.

I think it's a safe bet that the community is able to agree unanimously that you should leave the man child.

Red flags! Leave now before he does more harm than just tossing photos.

That's definitely a red flag. If it was bugging him, he should have talked to you about it. I have photos of all my exes. My husband was originally jealous of them, but now he gets that they're memories (though I think it still bugs him a little bit). We're different people. He gets rid of everything he doesn't need anymore, and I hang onto everything longer than is probably healthy. When he's cleaning without me around, he makes a pile of things that I might want to keep, and sometimes I even have to laugh at some of the things I've hoarded... but he wouldn't throw them out without checking with me first. And when he finds another photo of one of my exes, he's happy to listen to my story of the day it was taken.

Seems like your boyfriend should be in that dumpster

I read photos as potatoes.

On the bright side, at least he tossed them instead of burning them. I would suggest giving him a piece of your mind and telling him to cut the jealous bs.
