Today, my doctor told me that the intense, non stop ringing in my ears, which started suddenly at the beginning of the year, has no cure, no treatment options, and I just need to learn to live with it. I have severe auditory sensory issues, and have barely been getting by. I don't know what to do. FML

Today, I woke up to find out that my tinnitus has suddenly worsened. I used to be able to just ignore it, but now it's ridiculous. Almost everyone says I'm "too young" to have it, especially this bad. I say those people can go fuck themselves. FML
Today, I woke up completely deaf, for no reason. My doctor told me my hearing loss, "could possibly be permanent." I’m a composer. FML
Today, I went to a doctor's appointment to figure out why I've suddenly started going deaf. As it turns out, for some reason my ears now produce wax at an alarmingly fast rate. "Enough to make an entire candle before long if you save it up," the doctor said when she cleared them out. I guess this is my life now. FML
Today, after months of daily migraines and doctor's visits, I've now been told that my "temporary" hearing loss has nothing to do with my migraines, nor is it temporary at all. FML
Today, one of my ears randomly went deaf. I went to the doctor, thinking I had an ear infection or something. Turns out that your ears can go deaf entirely without reason, and I now have medication to take to see if I can get any of my hearing back in that ear. I'm only 26. FML
Today, after telling my boss about my hearing problem, she simply told me to "listen harder". FML
Today, after three years of being in physical pain, which affects my health and daily life, I was told it's an undiagnosable condition that I'll have to deal with for a long time, as there are no answers and no fixable solution. FML
Today, my excruciating ear pain turned out to be a bastard maggot eating away at all the vital things behind my eardrum. The doctor pulled it out, but I’m now permanently deaf in that ear and can’t balance. I fall if I try to stand or walk further than 5 feet. FML
Today, I realized I rarely go outside anymore due to hyperacusis, social anxiety, depression, and sensory issues. I'm also afraid to tell my family and friends about my problems, because they don't understand how bad it really is. Looks like I'm doomed to be depressed and alone my whole life. FML
Today, I discovered that in addition to being an autistic HSP, I also suffer from misophonia, hyperacusis, and tinnitus. My audiologist has described me as having, "the worst case of abnormally sensitive hearing she has ever seen in her life." I rarely leave my house anymore. I wish I was deaf. FML

I have tinnitus, there are medications that help me manage it, as well as getting my neck cracked by a chiropractor. I’ve had tinnitus since I was 15 and I’m now 33. It will depend on the cause, which does need to be investigated, but your doctor shrugging it off without even investigating is problematic in this regard. If you want to message me, I can explain what medications and options I have worked through with doctors as well.

There is no cure for tinnitus. I've lived with it my whole life. White noise at night helps me sleep.

That is a good idea, a good chiropractor, along with other things, sounds like good advice. If there’s anything being blocked, you can’t believe how it affects so many body systems. I’m guessing you probably will need something else, as well, but it’s a start. I think the white noise that someone mentioned, is also a good idea. OMG, I am so so sorry! I have heard of that before, either on a documentary or in the news, I can’t remember. I felt so bad hearing about that and they were trying everything to find answers and get rid of it. There needs to be some serious research done! I am curious to see if I can a find something out, that has to be just maddening. I want to see if there has been anyone whose found some treatment-anything, that helped or knew of possibilities coming up in the future. Anyway, you’ll be the first to know if I find something out. I’m rooting for you!!

See if one of those indoor fountains help dealing with the noise. And yes, go see a different doctor.

I have tinnitus and use hearing aids that play a white noise to mask it. It works wonders for me! Go to an audiologist and get all of your options!!
