Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I wasn't allowed to work from home, despite being ill enough to just take the day off anyway, all so there could be "someone to answer the phone." The phone didn't ring once all day. FML
Today, I overheard my boss stressing out over finding a replacement for me. I didn't know I was leaving. FML
Today, while battling a severe flu, I was forced to come to work by my manager. Upon arrival, I discovered that a colleague he likes who should be covering for me is out today. The reason? Her shoes hurt. FML
Today, my boss made me work a longer shift than usual. Not because he needed me in, but just so I'd finish at the same time as his brat of a son, and give him a lift home. FML
Today, my company was having a huge party so I went to work dressed in my best outfit. During lunch break, my boss said to me, "You really missed out on something yesterday, it was great fun!" FML
Today, my boss sent me a message about a project, via WhatsApp. It's my day off, so I figured it could wait till I was able to give a flying fuck. Literally a minute later, he was spamming me, demanding to know why I'd left him as read and reminding me that he has firing powers. FML
Today, I took my printer to work because the one in my office is broken. When I tried to leave, my boss stopped me and accused me of stealing it from the office. Nobody would believe me when I explained. Now my boss has a new printer. FML
Today, I arrived at work six minutes late due to heavily congested traffic. This is just two days after my boss put out a memo saying that anyone who's late to work from then until the new year will have their holiday bonus pay forfeited. FML
Today, I was put on notice at work due to my "anger problem." Apparently, sighing in a meeting means you'll be labeled as someone with a short temper. However, the creepy stalker guy is on the fast track to management. FML
Today, due to "severe cuts to the budget" at work, I had to stir my coffee with a paperclip. FML

"If I chose to quit right now, is that going to be an inconvenience to you? It will?! Oh my! ... I quit."

It'll be even more inconvenient when you waste away and they have to do your job anyway.

I used to get this at my apprenticeship, even though I'd be doing more hours than most of the full time staff I'd have to rush my lunch and continue to answer the phone even though I was on break, also meant I wasn't even allowed to leave the office for lunch. Apparently none of the other staff members on six times my salary were qualified enough to pick up a phone now and then.

Offer to go wireless, and you have a win/win situation on your hands. Then get a magic marker and put a big capital "L" on your forehead so the employment standards officer knows who to speak with when they visit the workplace

If you work more than 6 hours in a day, they are supposed to give you a 30 minute meal break.

Just quit then! They sound like they pile all their work onto you.

This is part of the reason a blind eye is turned to illegal immigration, Americans are getting to be too lazy to do anything.

Make life inconvenient for them, and search for a new job, one where everyone pulls their weight. Sounds like that place would fall apart without you.

If you don't quit tomorrow, I'll fire you

Answer the phones with a mouth full of food. Then they'll have to choose between doing work and sounding professional.

Wait, do you work for AAA?
