Dating is hell
Today, I'd been talking to this girl for 3 months, and she finally agreed on a date. We got drinks and food, then she said, "I'm just going to the bathroom", then never came back, and blocked me. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I went to see a movie with the girl I've liked for months. After the commercials, she told me she had to go to the ladies room. She never came back. FML
Today, I was on a dinner date. Went really well. She said she was excited to have date number two. It came to paying. I went up to pay. Turned around. She had gone. Number blocked. FML
Today, I went on a date. After we finished our meal, I had to use the bathroom really bad. When I said so, my date totally lost it and accused me of planning on climbing out a window and ditching her. "Fuck that and fuck you!" she said, then stormed out, leaving me with the bill. FML
Today, it was supposed to be my first date with a girl I've been speaking to for three months. Last night, she revealed that she's still married, that her husband is "not so bad", and then confessed it all to him and blocked me. It was gonna be my first date in six years, after the last one stalked me across the country. FML
Today, I was preparing for a date with an amazing woman I'd been talking to for two weeks. An hour before our date, I sent a check-in text; no response. After about 30 minutes, I reset my phone as a last hope and received her message from TWO HOURS BEFORE, checking in with me. I'm now blocked with no way to explain. FML
Today, I was going on a blind date with a girl. She walked up to the table, said "Nah, no thanks" and left. FML
Today, I went on a date with a girl my friend set me up with. I thought we got along great, until after dessert, when I asked if she'd be interested in doing this again. She just said, "Nahhh" then got up and casually left, stiffing me on the bill. FML
Today, my girlfriend and I were out to dinner. She had to use the bathroom, so she went, but the food came while she was in there. She came out, yelling at me for ordering the food to come that exact time, then she broke up with me. FML
Today, I'd thought that I'd found the new love of my life. She wanted me, I wanted her, we were compatible on so many levels. I have known her for 15 years, and she had asked me on a date. Last night, she unfriended, blocked, and ghosted me. FML
Today, I finally went on a date with the girl I'm in love with. After dinner we went to the bar for drinks and things were going great. Right up until she went home with another guy. FML

“Finally agreed to a date” makes me think she’s repeatedly told you no… or made excuses on to why she didn’t want to go on a date. Next time I would remember if you have to ask more than once then she’s probably not interested.

There are directions on how to do that in the book “Worst Case Scenarios - Dating”. It’s in the chapter about what to do if a date is going badly. It includes going to the restroom and changing your appearance enough to slip out or going out a window. I read that book a long time ago. It’s funny and entertaining - until it happens to you. The bottom line is that your date was not comfortable with finishing the date with you. Think back - Did you do or say something that made your date so uncomfortable that she felt the need to escape? Did you discuss politics or religion? Did you treat the wait staff respectfully? Every experience is a learning experience - Whatever it was that you did or said, don’t do or say that again. It is also possible, though not likely, that date spotted someone she knew and for some reason could not allow herself to be recognized as on a date with you - Like maybe her present boyfriend, girlfriend, or spouse. In that case it wasn’t your fault… You will eventually look back on this as an interesting story. Learn from it, but don’t give up.

Sorry she wasted your time, OP. She wasn't worth it. Simply move on and wait for the next lady to give you a chance.

Sounds shitty at the moment, but in the long run, that was the least bad exit. You avoided the humiliation of being rejected for a good-night kiss and a second date.

That's a bummer, kind of nice that you had such a clean/early break. Would have been really awful if she had pulled the same thing 6 months into a relationship.

I kinda want to know what happened before she left. I once went on a first date with a guy who looked absolutely nothing like his photos, he was even a whole foot shorter and his voice sounded different in person (like more high pitched and nasally). I decided to not be shallow and continued the date. The guy went on to talk about how spoiled he was and how he’d never have to work a day in his life, and wouldn’t stop bragging about how rich his family was. I finally made an excuse and left, then later blocked him. Looking back, I wish I would have snuck out of the restaurant and ended the date earlier. Online attraction doesn’t always translate in person.

While he doesn't sound like that great of a catch, for obvious reasons. If you can't be upfront and honest to someone's face about things, that says WAY more about you than it does them.
