Today, I received another death threat for teaching evolution in college. I'm a geology teacher. FML

Today, a student set me on fire while I was lecturing my class about proper lab safety. FML
Today, we were discussing evolution at the super-religious school I'm forced to attend. I mentioned homo sapiens, and my teacher mockingly replied, "You actually believe in homo sapiens? Hahahah!" The whole class started laughing. No, not at the teacher; at me. FML
Today, a parent of one of the students I teach called me to complain that I was teaching her child "lies" and "fairytales". I was teaching them about the Holocaust. FML
Today, I received a death threat from some nutball accusing me of being part of some big government conspiracy called "Haarp." According to this psycho, I'm responsible for causing the recent tornadoes in Oklahoma. I'm just a small-time weatherman. FML
Today, I had environmental science class. My teacher doesn't believe humans are affecting climate change or that we should protect endangered species. He slants class discussions so now all my classmates agree with him. FML
Today, my professor snapped and told me that I know nothing, that everything I've ever learned is wrong, and that all of my former teachers should be shot. FML
Today, I got paper thrown at me because I didn't agree with my classmate's conspiracy theory that Brian Griffin's death was planned by the illuminati. FML
Today, I was sitting in social studies and someone threw a note at me. It said "Go fuck yourself, everyone hates you, just die." FML
Today, I was once again berated by an idiotic parent. I’ve been called a filthy liberal, a groomer, and had my job threatened several times. All of this because I was teaching second graders about pronouns. You know, the part of English grammar that replaces a noun. Nothing political at all. FML
Today, I was teaching and a boy sitting in front kept laughing and smiling, even after I asked him to cut it out. I got so annoyed that I jokingly said I'd knock his teeth out, and asked him to leave the class. The kid went to the principal and told him I intended to hurt him. I'm a college professor. FML

Geology is studying rocks - those things that have formed and changed over millions of years. OP may not be teaching evolution but s/he IS teaching against creationists.

Yeah. I noticed that and was confused about whether he got incorrectly sent the death threats simply because the sender didn't understand what geology is, or if he perhaps was teaching something in geology that implied the earth is older than what bible scholars think...

I just have to say, as a Christian woman, sorry youve gotten those threats. Anyone who does that in the name of God is not really a Christian. I must say I'm frustrated beyond belief at how many "Christians" actually do things in the name of God that goes against what he says to do. Ok I'm done. End of rant.
