Bum note

Today, after entering a conservatory of music, I've worked really hard on my academic subjects to past through the exam, so my major is pretty weak. After practising 6 hours a day for three weeks, my teacher asked me to change my major and said I'm the worst student she's ever seen. And there‘s nowhere I can go. FML

How did you get admitted to conservatory if you suck so badly?

Two thoughts: (1) Something as important to you as this, get a second opinion. (2) If playing music should turn out to be not your talent, consider other options in the field that you might be better at.

TT I know that it might sounds a bit weird, but in my country some music-related majors have special requirements,i am studying in Music Education,so my academic grades like math and history should be really high,in a way my instrumental skills are less important. I consider myself being in this place just because of luck...Though I can do pretty well writing tasks.

Tell your teacher she's there to help you.

I would try this week,thanks a lot

Your teacher is awful. Get a second opinion. You cant be that bad.

It's my experience that teachers often don't know what the hell they're talking about in terms of talent evaluation. It's honestly not really their job. They could be masters of their subject and of teaching techniques, but talent evaluation is typically an opinion, and guess what? You're still learning, so it's nothing close to a finished product she's judging. I remember having conversations with my friends where they'd just finished telling me "I hate English and I can't wait to be done with it," and the next period, the teacher told them "you should really consider a career in English because you're really good at this." Fast forward 20 years, and they're not working in that field at all.
