Brave

Today, my husband got home from hospital following a suicide attempt that was a hair's breadth from being successful, and told me he did it because he can’t handle being married, being a father, having responsibilities, then he moved out and refuses to come home. FML

Halloween

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.

he is obviously going through a major depressive phase. pushing him to come home, without knowing that his needs for therapy and or medication are taken care of first is rather selfish. you need to support him and help him through this crisis time before worrying about him living at home and being a parent. good luck to both of you.

OK THIS right here is called toxic masculinity. Men are human, too. They have feelings and every *right* to those feelings! Calling *anyone* having an emotional breakdown derogatory names is only going to make situations like this worse. He needs a psychiatrist and possibly medication to help him handle being overwhelmed. You, however, need to take a few courses in empathy.

I'm surprised he wasn't admitted for psychiatric evaluation. He tried to kill himself. Unfortunately you really need to concentrate on his mental health right now.

I know it hurts and I know you're probably going through a lot of emotions over this. He needs help and you do too. If you can, try to support him in his getting help, but also see about getting a therapist for yourself to help you navigate this the best way possible. Best wishes my dear and prayers for you and your family.

Let him be and pay child support. Was he carefree and entertaining when you met and you loved it? He was probably immature and stayed like this. Maybe what he really wants from life is to be single, available, enjoy himself.

Hmmm stay with you and kill myself or leave you and the kids and live? I’d leave too tf.

You’re better off from the sounds of it

I'd imagine he's feeling like that because of whatever went wrong in his brain. That kind of 'exhaustion' and 'burnout' is normal for mental illness. Let him have his space, call him when you can to let him know you love him, and let him get into treatment. He'll be back before you know it.
