Bonjour!

Today, while working alone, I decided to just try some random impressions, and so I ended up doing a French accent when a customer walked in. To avoid embarrassment, I had to continue faking the accent as he struck up a long conversation with me. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.

As long as he didn't understand that you were faking it, what's the problem? ;)

Hon hon hon baguette no?

Why would it have been embarrassing to get caught?

"Merde" is clearly informal, like something you would say to your friend for an exam. "Bonne chance" et "Bon courage" are the same thing, at least as a native I've never heard a difference between the two.

Idiot lol

Shoulda changed it up. From French to British to German. lol

Hey, here's an idea, just say "sorry, when I'm working alone I like to do impressions"

I don't see a problem with this...but still if he comes in again you might need to remember to use it...but I think you'll be fine without it

At least he didn't start talking to you in French

Right? I was taught Parisian French but we spent some time going over other areas just to hear the different dialects and it's crazy how different they are. I can barely understand Cajun French because of the dialect. I actually did better with a coworker from the ivory coast.

Imagine how much worse it would be if he became a regular, or others heard the accent too and you had to do it for them too...
