Barbarian rolls a 1 for Charisma

Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I had a friend quit every friend group we shared, all because I refused to show him favouritism in my D&D campaign, after I changed the rules to reduce favouritism between everyone, because he'd complained. FML
Today, I found out my friend of 15 years, who cut off our weekly gaming group during Covid after a fight, is speaking to everyone but me. I wasn't even in the fight, I just checked in to see if he was OK after. FML
Today, my (now former) best friend kicked me out of the band I started because I wasn't 'dedicated enough' after a 3 day 'holiday' to visit my dying uncle. He also during this 3 day 'holiday' convinced my girl friend to leave me and date him. FML
Today, I found out that the person who I considered my best friend actually hates my guts. FML
Today, I told my dad that I was going to sleep over my friend's house this weekend with a few other guys to play Dungeons and Dragons. He responded with, "Oh, back in my day, me and my pals used to pick on the kids who played Dungeons and Dragons." FML
Today, my best friend of 10 years blocked me for no reason. When I went to her house to ask why she did it and apologize for whatever it was, she told me to kill myself and slammed the door. I still don't know what I did. FML
Today, my best friend told me she didn't want to be my friend anymore, because she wanted to start afresh in college and have pretty friends. FML
Today, I told my friend that I don't like spending time around one of her other friends. He's a hardcore Trumpist, who goes out of his way to make people uncomfortable, and be as cruel as possible at every opportunity. She uninvited me from our weekly game nights, because, "He's lonely and depressed." FML
Today, I'd set aside a weekend to play Dungeons & Dragons. One of our players suddenly had trouble with his wife and brought his toddler over. The kid would not stop crying, getting into places he shouldn't be, and loudly shitting his diaper every 15 minutes. I had to eject the player from the game. This is why I don't want kids. FML
Today, our Dungeons & Dragons group has imploded. A member kept making inappropriate passes at me, even though he knows I’m married. Now my husband has been threatening to “wring his skinny little neck like a chicken” if he ever sees him again, and now the other members are calling my man a bully. FML

It was a long time coming. He had been getting more and more unreasonable and toxic, but I didn't expect it to be over something so monumentally stupid. The player is new and my ex-friend hated him with an unprecedented vengeance because he wasn't up to our level in the less than 10 sessions we'd played. I told him if he wasn't having fun he could leave, he lost his shit over how I wasn't changing the table to suit his needs and claimed that he kicked someone from another table for me (he didn't) and that I had broken some promise (I didn't). Then he bitched to mutual friends about how we aren't friends, tried to lie and gaslight me when I confronted him, and that's all she wrote. Shame to throw that much time and emotional investment down the drain, but the dude can't exist without being right. I'll be happier for it.

I had to kick my own brother out of what was originally his D&D group. He had had a previous group with a toxic dm so the two friends of his he actually liked from the group wanted to split off. I wanted to spend time with my brother and learn how to dm so I volunteered. the friend group grew over time and unfortunately my sibling became more and more of a jerk constantly pushing everyone away. I was the DM and we were having D&D at my apartment so it fell on me to tell him that if he couldn't change his behavior then he couldn't come anymore. Ultimately it was the right decision he only got more extreme over time. But it really was hard on everyone and it was like plunging a wreaking ball through our sibling relationship. doesn't help that I'm Marrying his former best friend who I became friends with through that D&D group. point is it will make D&D itself more fun.
