If he's telling you to back off, then you probably should. Like the top comment said, there's a difference between crushing and stalking.

I’m sorry but if someone’s just not interested, then you need to respect that & cut your losses and move on. Perhaps there’s some pushy or clingy behaviors on your part you’re not fully realizing that you’re showing & he’s getting annoyed or uncomfortable with it and wants to be left alone. So do just that.
