Today, I was asked why I have stretch marks when I’m skinny. The stretch marks are from when I was recovering anorexic. FML

Today, my niece asked why my veins were so close to my skin. She was referring to my stretch marks. FML
Today, a man stopped me on the street. He said the stretch marks on my thighs looked like cuts, and asked me if I self-harmed. Before I was able to politely respond "No", he said, "I mean, I can see why you would." FML
Today, I noticed that I've gained so much weight that even my feet have stretch marks. FML
Today, my boyfriend noticed dark lines that look like scars on my inner thighs. He confronted me about them, thinking I was cutting myself, and now wants me to see a therapist because he thinks I'm suicidal. They're stretch marks. He won't believe me. FML
Today, this guy who likes me accused me of cutting myself. I asked him what he was talking about, and he said, "Don't lie, I saw those scars on your thighs when we went swimming." I have stretch marks on my inner thighs, and now I have to explain them to him so he doesn't think I cut myself. FML
Today, after finally dropping my weight from an overweight 200 to a slim 135, my skin is now loose everywhere, and stretches about two inches out on my stomach. FML
Today, after going through a surgery related to my ovaries, having a life-threatening complication during the surgery due to anesthesia, and my doctor warning me about future infertility, a friend told me that no one would marry me now, since I have stretch marks and stitches marks on my abdomen. FML
Today, I noticed I was starting to get a double chin. I’ve only just gotten to a healthy weight after a serious battle with anorexia. FML
Today, after feeling a little down about myself and looking for comfort from my boyfriend, he told me that my stretch marks make me look like a tiger. FML
Today, my brother saw my side when my shirt came up, and asked when I got a tattoo; the pink he saw was in fact my stretch marks. Worst of all, I had to show them to everyone to prove I didn't actually get a tattoo. FML

As a fellow recovering anorexic, please be proud of them. Every single one of them shows the struggle you've been through and are going through right now. Those aren't just stretch marks, those are tiger stripes. Tigers fight to survive, and so do you. That takes a lot of strength, self discipline and most of all courage. Be proud of them and be very, very proud of you. I'm proud of you. I wish you all the best and strength during and after your recovery. I hope you can look back on the hard times in a while and be even prouder than before. You've got this!

Those are battle scars. Trophies. You fought a war and you won! They're a badge of honor to be proud of.

As a fellow recovering anorexic, please be proud of them. Every single one of them shows the struggle you've been through and are going through right now. Those aren't just stretch marks, those are tiger stripes. Tigers fight to survive, and so do you. That takes a lot of strength, self discipline and most of all courage. Be proud of them and be very, very proud of you. I'm proud of you. I wish you all the best and strength during and after your recovery.
