Today, my daughter is almost never included in activities my family has for their daughters. I’ve been told mine is “too wild” and “unladylike” because she likes being barefoot, climbing trees, and playing with animals. Meanwhile, they have their 10-12 year-olds in weaves, acrylics, makeup, and heels. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I was told that I was a terrible mother, I was ruining my daughter’s life and that I was raising her to be promiscuous. Why? Because I'd painted my 2-year-old’s fingernails. FML
Today, I found out that my daughter has been making up horrible lies about her home life to impress some new friends. Since when is having two highly involved, loving parents with good careers and a nice home an embarrassment? FML
Today, my daughter told me she would rather hang herself than hang out with me. All I did was remind her to go to bed at a reasonable time to get some sleep for an activity she likes doing. FML
Today, I’m beyond pissed off and downright repulsed that my daughter is still in her stupid rebellious phase. it's bad enough that she does shit herself but now she’s involving our grandchildren. She showed up to our annual gathering and my 10 year-old granddaughter had bright purple dyed hair. FML
Today, my daughter confidently told me that I’m not allowed to ignore her when she’s sulking on purpose. That’s not how it’s supposed to work. Clearly this child has spent too long listening to my ex-wife and her coven of brain-dead cackling witches, AKA her mother and aunties. FML
Today, I found out that my 11 year-old daughter dresses skimpy when I drop her off on the weekends at my ex-husband’s house, courtesy of his girlfriend, who he cheated on me with. When I confronted her, she told me to “stop being such a prude” and with my attitude, “no wonder you get cheated on.” FML
Today, I found out that my daughter uses visits to my house as punishment for her kids. “Do as you’re told or we’re going to grandma's house where you’ll be bored for hours.” FML
Today, I realized my daughter has been in longer relationships than I have. FML
Today, my daughter continues to have acne breakouts. She’s no longer a teenager, which means she isn’t washing her face. I can’t believe I raised someone who ignores her hygiene to this point. FML
Today, my daughter is still acting out her teenage issues. This morning, when I told her to, "Have a nice day" she screamed at me, "DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!" FML

I can’t help but feel like making your ten-year-old wear high heels, makeup and acrylics should be classified as a form of child abuse. You keep being a good parent to your kiddo

Sounds like you are dodging a whole armory of bullets. Scouts BSA has girl troops. The leadership curriculum is the same just separate from the boys. (and no blasted cookie sales). Even If she is not included with the other family members, you stay active in her life. That will be the best thing to help develop quality character.

You made certain choices about your child and how to raise her. Obviously opposing the culture you grow up in. The price is that she is left out. The responsibility is completely yours for good or bad

your daughter is normal and well grounded, the fact that she loves animals means she has a good heart. she has plenty of time for Louis Vuittons later. don't be surprised if the other girls end up being mothers young.

To be fair, I'm sure your daughter would be bored to tears having to paint her nails and face, tease her hair, and parade endlessly in different outfits in front of her cousins.

Find new people to hang around with. I would rather have my 10 yr old acting and playing like a 10 yr.old then trying to grow up too fast.
