Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my life is so boring that I started looking through my can of coins and sorting them out by year. The oldest coin I have is from 1963. FML
Today, I came home to find that my mother had sold all my valuable collector coins for cheap at a local shady pawn shop to buy herself a TV. The coins in question were worth enough to start a business. FML
Today, I was cleaning my apartment when I found a €20 note underneath the sofa cushion. I was pretty happy until I remembered I'd lost €20 a few days earlier and spent an hour looking for it. I'd finally found my own money and felt lucky about it. FML
Today, I found my missing wedding band inside my 2-year old's pull up. It was accompanied by two coins, a Hot Wheels car, a pebble, and a dead bug. FML
Today, I found a $10 bill on the ground. I got so excited and felt like I was the richest person alive. That was, until the wind blew it out of my hand, never to be seen again. FML
Today, I got home and found my kids playing with my coin collection. My wife told me to stop being grouchy because it’s not like they’re silver and gold. No, but they were all mint condition, some of them very rare, and every scratch the kids just put on them has halved their value or worse. FML
Today, after I found gold coins a few years ago, nothing newsworthy but enough to pay off my parents' mortgage, some landowning douche, who is already a millionaire, is now claiming the lake where I found the coins is his, and is suing me for the coins' full value. If I lose in court, my parents may have to sell their house. FML
Today, I found a wallet on the sidewalk and spent an hour tracking down the owner. When I finally returned it, he opened it, counted the cash in front of me, and asked if I was sure there hadn't been more money in it. FML
Today, I was emptying a bag of grass from my lawn mower when I saw pieces of what used to be a 50 dollar bill. FML
Today, I found out that my mom found a paper with my long lost username and password to an old crypto wallet with 17 bitcoins. She'd thrown it in the garbage bin before realising what it was. The bin was empty when I went running to check it. FML

You were eight. Stuff gets found and lost like earthquakes in Japan. The dirty old coin coulda brought you some bling, but nothing is better than hard-labour money.

Except money that you didn't have to do anything to earn.

if you can't remember where you put it, you can't be sure it looks like what you think it looks anyway, i guess. if you find it, you will find it's only trash.

I'd try looking for it. It's a. Good chance to do some thorough cleaning, and you'll probably find more lost items.

How did you remember exactly what it looked like? o:

OH MAN, you're that eight year old kid that came into my candy shop all those years ago with that crappy dirty coin. Let me remember...... two packs of baseball cards, three pieces of Hubba-Bubba and an Archie & Jughead comic book. You got a deal kid. I'd write more, but my waiter is coming with my drink and steamed lobster - AHHHHAAAAA, life in Aruba is good -- THANKS KID!

Look on the bright side: whenever you move, you'll have to go through everything. If you didn't spend it, I'm sure you'll find it.

Just like when the older generation used Mickey Mantle baseball cards to make noise in the spokes of their bicycles.

Damn that sucks! But you deserve it for misplacing it ;)

You know, if the coin says 500 B.C., it's a fake. People have been tossing those around for years just to screw with gullible, greedy kids.
NomOnShroomz 14
But the 10000 B.C. bills are real, right? Right? RIGHT?? ****, I'm probably gunna lose my house.
perdix 31
Yeah, I've seen those around. They're the ones written on 8-track tape cassettes? People that know about money and currency, like banks, will realize quickly that bills from 10000 B.C. written on used Styx tapes are not valid. You can palm these things off on dumb hookers, just make sure they don't have smart pimps or you'll get seriously killt!
