Today, it was my birthday. It was also the only day my family wanted to hold the graveside funeral for my grandmother, who passed last week. FML
Today, it's my birthday. My grandmother died yesterday. We were close and she basically raised me. FML
Today, it's my birthday. Today is also the day my grandma died, six years ago. Since then, I get to sit through any sort of attempted celebration while my mom sobs and drinks herself into a stupor in the background. FML
Today, my grandma bought me a cemetery plot for my birthday. If that's not weird enough, it's about a two-minute walk from where the rest of my family will be buried. FML
Today, I took a day off from work for a doctor's appointment. It ended up taking a lot longer than I expected, because while I was on my way, my mom called to inform me that my great aunt passed away this morning. As a result, I showed up extremely late and was berated. And the worst part? It's my birthday. FML
Today, it was my birthday. Two of my best friends forgot it, and so did my grandparents. All of my friends were busy, so I spent it alone in my car. FML
Today, after mourning and making my girlfriend cancel her big birthday party, I found out my grandma didn't actually die. FML
Today, it's my 21st birthday. All my friends and family said they were busy so I figured I was getting a surprise party. Nope. They all were actually busy. I spent my birthday alone. FML
Today, my uncle died. It was also my grandpa's 85th birthday. His reaction to the death? "Best birthday gift ever!" FML
Today, I’m spending my 21st birthday in the hospital getting a colonoscopy and endoscopy. Happy birthday to me. FML

Wow, Grandma really stuck it to you! She could have stuck around for a few more days so you could have had a fun 21st. Your family could have at least postponed the funeral so you could get ****** on your 21st and then sober up. People these days are so thoughtless and have screwed-up priorities!

Tomorrow you will still be 21 (plus 1 day) and you can celebrate then if you want. Grandma will still be in the ground… Shit happens sometimes - We just have to make the best of it.

This happened to my brother back in 2007. His birthday was the day of the funeral for my grandma

The only way this could be worse is if they venerate her and make that day all about "remembering her" instead of celebrating your birthday.
