Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I went biking. I attempted a large hill and lost control, slipped, and fell ten feet into a sewage pit. Riding home covered in crap, my sock caught my chain and I flipped over my bike. My dad had to spray me with the garden hose, bloody and shitty, in the front yard. FML
Today, I found out how acidic some of the chemicals I work with are. After a chemical shower, minor burns, and having to throw away my clothes due to a biohazard, I had the pleasure of running across the parking lot to my car, wearing only a lab coat around my waist. FML
Today, while coming home from school on my bike, I lost control of it, and went straight into a light pole. Thankfully I was at a very low speed. After that, someone splashed puddle of water at me with their car. After getting to home, I went to take a bath during which the shampoo went into my left eye. It's still hurting. FML
Today, while on a road trip with my friends, we stopped at a gas station to fill up. While I was pumping gas, a gust of wind blew my hat off and it landed in a puddle of gasoline. When I picked it up, my hands were covered in gasoline, so I smelled like a gas station for the rest of the trip. FML
Today, I was walking to work when it was starting to pour down sideways. I was pretty early anyway, so, I decided to duck into a bus shelter and let it pass. Suddenly, a big truck comes and drenched me with the biggest puddle. Soaking from head to toe. FML
Today, I was applying some Icy Hot to my sore thighs, when I accidentally got a little on my dime sacks. For the next hour, it felt like someone had lit a match under my plums. FML
Today, I was on a road-trip with some of my buddies, when we stopped at a gas station. When I opened the door to their bathroom, brown water flowed out, soaking my legs up to my knees. I then spent another 2 hours in an enclosed vehicle. FML
Today, while helping my wife clean the bathroom, I stepped in a puddle of neat bleach she'd randomly left by the shower door. I washed it off straight away but now an hour later I have burns on the bottom of my foot and can’t put weight on it. FML
Today, while hurrying by bike to an appointment, my chain broke. I quickly got off the road and managed to fix it on the sidewalk, covering my hands in black smear. Dirty but confident about my repair skills, I got up. A second later, felt something warm running down my neck. Bird poop. FML
Today, my mom was gifted with a toiletry basket. I grabbed the lotion and used it without asking. When I went out, it began raining hard. I got wet and noticed my skin got very sticky. Turns out the lotion was actually body wash. People were wondering why soap bubbles were coming from my skin. FML

I call Shenanigans!!! Not only should the backpack kept the majority of the rain off of the products, but the shampoo and household chemicals were most likely in bottles or other type containers that could handle a little rain water. So you would have had to open the containers/ remove the caps, stuffed the containers into your backpack to ensure some spillage, and then left the backpack open during a torrential downpour in order for this story to have actually happened. So, you get nothing! You lose!!! Good day, sir!!!

I'm not buying this. were there no tops on theses bottles? not to mention it would have to be a violent rain and a very thin back pack for there to be suds.

And here you thought you had a clean ride home, but guess it turned out to be a pretty suddy one instead!

I think the ride turned out much cleaner than OP had anticipated.

You're lucky they didn't mix together in your bag to create an explosion.

If they’re poor enough to ride their bike to the store, then I imagine that their backpack may have holes in it and therefore not be completely repelling water. Also if the bottles are heavy enough, one of them could have broken the cheap plastic lid off another bottle. Poor backpack + broken lid on bottle = plausibility. Think outside the box, life is full of endless possibilities.

Have you never bought cheap cleaning products? The tops break all the time!

... is it really that hard to understand that the bottles came open and that the water from the rain just made it possible for the products to foam more?

Bottles do not just "come open". They are designed specifically to prevent such an occurrence.

Maybe next time do not buy shampoo and household chemicals stored in paper bags.

Riding a bicycle and carrying groceries is the pits. I know, been there done that more than once. I got me a grocery cart, much better.

I don't understand this. Were there no caps on any of these items? Cause that's the only way that would happen.
