YDI for being a dumbass and not keeping ID on you. Most stores in my area card you if you LOOK under 40. Then again I'm the type of person that if I'm buying something & you have to be 18+/21+ for I'm handing my ID to the cashier/clerk before they even ask. I also always keep my purse (which contains my ID) on me at all times and if it's not on me then it's in the car near by.

YDI for thinking they would make an exception for you. They have to ask you for your ID, or else they can be fired. Instead of taking your ID (which you should always have with you no matter what), and showing it to them to prove you're old enough, you threw a fit when he wouldn't sell it to you illegally. And yes, it is illegal to sell alcohol without seeing ID. Once again, YDI.

where I work, if someone wants to buy alcohol, we have to SCAN the back of their ID and the computer knows if it's valid or not. otherwise the register won't even let you complete the transaction. you should keep your ID on you at all times anyway. YDI.

I wasn't going to click either way - until I saw you thought you had a right to insult somebody just because you didn't get your way. Ignoring that you're too stupid to bring the ID just in case, you look down on others because they aren't fit or possibly had bad genetic (acne) - chances are he's smarter than you anyhow. P.S. I'm not scrawny nor do I have acne, so don't try to pull out that card.

Did you really have to insult the poor guy because he was just doing his job and what the law says? It was jerks like you that made me absolutely hate working as a cashier at a grocery store. It has to be done; did you honestly think the manager was going to side with you?
