that's why you go on birth control so that you can use it to safely delay or skip your period. it's part of wedding planning 101.

It likes to come at the worst possible moments. This is going to sound gross but, if you and your new husband want to do the deed, use a female condom. And hey, at least you know your bestfriend is a true friend!

First of all, wear a tampon, they last longer and are way less disgusting. Secondly, you should've planned your wedding when you knew you wouldn't get your period...simple as that.

#290 you're an idiot, and obviously a guy. she is upset cause she cant have sex on her honeymoon, not cause shes wearing a pad. anyway..im so sorry =( that is so awful, and my biggest fear.

that really sucks :( my period has definitely ruined good times for me. but yea i agree with some of those before me, birth control pills to skip a period would've been good for the wedding and honeymoon .. anyhow, hope all goes better.

For the people who say that "ugh, who still wears a pad," you people are severely uneducated. No doubt, they are more comfortable, but apparently you ppl don't know about Toxic Shock Syndrome. Women can die from long-term usage of tampons, so stfu you assholes - go read a ****** book.

Oh btw, in order to avoid a period entirely, GET PRAGNANT! And AGAIN! And AGAIN!

One more to #293, Why are you so stupid and naive (and you're seemingly a girl)? A) She wasn't upset about wearing a pad, really -- that's out of context. B) Some people plan for a wedding years in advance. How the hell are you supposed to know when your period happens? Periods fluctuate (as ppl have mentioned already). Do you not have any girl friends to know this?

Don't worry about it :) Good luck, and congrats! x

I have to admit, at first I chose YDI because there are so many ways to avoid getting your period at a certain time. And yes, none of them will get it down to a "T", but it'll be as close as possible so at the very least you won't have you're period for the entire honeymoon as well. Congrats on your wedding, though. You have the rest of your life to have sex with your husband. One week is not that big of a deal. Lastly, all the posts on how wearing a tampon would solve the problem seriously made me LOL. These are obviously from people who are greater risk for TSS because they shove a tampon in in the morning and wear the same one the entire day. ::gags:: Heavy or light, that's just disgusting. FYL for not paying attention in life. You should know better.
