Planning around your period doesn't always work. Stress can change that and there are people with irregular periods. Methods to consider are tampons, menstrual cups, and/or birth control. Just fyi for the ladies! Though I totally understand if there are reasons why you can't use any of those. Sorry, OP! Sorry for the best friend, too. D:
#36, menstrual cups can be worn for up to 12 hours without leaking, with no risk of TSS. They're far less disgusting and actually much healthier for you than tampons. I love mine! Divacup, Lunette, Mooncup UK, Lady Cup, Miacup, femmecup! There are so many options that are much better and comfortable than pads or tampons!
Okay, what freak said she deserved it? Periods SUCK. And if you're a male, you have NO right to say ANYTHING about them unless it's sympathetic. So there will be no explaining to fiance. If he wants her, he'll do her, blood and all. It's healthy for the woman and a nice, free lubricant. And 234, I would talk out loud about my period. I don't care. I talk about a LOT of things out loud.
You're husband should understand. It's not that abnormal.
lol at these reactions. give period sex a chance! put a towel down and go for it. the shower is good too. also, not everyone uses hormonal birth control. i'm almost 21 and don't, due to a lot of research i've done.
YDI. The only way this could be an FYL is if you were allergic to birth control. Religion is against birth control in the sense that you aren't allowed to prevent pregnancy, not in the sense that you aren't allowed to take the pill at all. CONTROLLING PREGNANCIES, not birth control! She could totally take the pill up to her wedding day, or the day before her wedding day, and her period wouldn't start for the 3-4 days after the last pill. She could at least enjoy the first night or two, and pregnancy is still an option (since it's nearly impossible to get pregnant when menstruating happens so soon, it doesn't matter). Even if she was allergic, she should know her cycle by now and should've planned better.
more! tss is EXTREMELY rare. extremely. like, 7 documented cases in the US each year. if your husband is whiny about it...well, you're getting married. he's going to have to get used to your period. and am i the only one who never thought about charting out menstrual cycles to plan a wedding date? sheesh.
haha! religion is not the only reason to be against hbc. you have no idea what it does to your body. i'm done with this one.
Most people know when they have their period.... Since you don't, YDI. Should have set it 2 weeks before or after. YDI

that's why you go on birth control so that you can use it to safely delay or skip your period. it's part of wedding planning 101.
It likes to come at the worst possible moments. This is going to sound gross but, if you and your new husband want to do the deed, use a female condom. And hey, at least you know your bestfriend is a true friend!
