Today, I learned that I can work out for over an hour a day, cut my daily calories by almost half, keep careful track of my diet, drink nothing but water, and not lose a pound. But I can sure as hell gain weight after one dinner at a buffet. FML

How long have you been on your new diet/workout plan? Have you been keeping track of your measurements? You do know new muscle weighs more than lost fat, right? and if you weighed yourself the same day as your buffet, the added weight is just food in your intestines. Why do people always associate successful health plans with numbers on a scale?

How long have you been dieting? If you really haven't lost any weight perhaps you should see a doctor.

I can think of so many things right now. first of all you probably lost fat weight from working out but gained myscle unless you weren't even working hard.. and buffets are the worst things to do when ur on a diet because eveybody goes overboard at a buffet AND you probably gained weight because you weighed yourself right after you ate, when you're only supposed to weigh yourself in the mornings before breakfast. also, try taking two hours after you eat before sleepig. when you sleep, your body stores any remainig food as fat, and giving yourself two hours let's your body fully digest the food. don't bother us with your weight problems please.

You are an idiot. You write out a novel then ask to not be bothered with it? Nice broscience..you have no idea what your talking about.

There's no such rule about only weighing yourself in the morning. The only rule, really, is that to get a proper comparison, you have to weigh yourself at the same time of day, because gravity fluctuates slightly throughout the day, making your weight vary by a couple pounds.

You have to loose 3500 calories to loose a pound. Or take in an extra 3500 calories to gain a pound. Just a reference number to strive for... and you should go more off your BMI number not your weight number if you want a more accurate portrayal of if the diet is working.

You may have hypothyroidism, that's when your thyroid isn't producing enough of a hormone which runs your metabolism. Another thing is that while cutting that many calories from a diet works for a crash diet it probably won't work long term and cut some much needed good fat and nutrients. Regarding the exercise- muscle weighs more than fat. You may have put on muscle weight before you allowed enough time for the new muscle to start burning the fat. Don't give up!

Muscle weighs more than fat, as you build muscle and burn fat simultaneously, you might actually gain weight.

you must change your habits and it's quite okay to give yourself room for fallbacks. if you continue to only drink water and exercise and watch your portions there will be a difference in your weight but instead of paying attention to the scale you should pay attention to how you feel and how your clothes fit. if you are not seeing a change whatsoever after a month or so you may have a health issue (thyroid perhaps?) you should see your doctor about.

Assuming that you are working out strenuously a d that the diet your on has you on the right foods, there are only a few things I can think of that could be slowing you down: 1) Your already at your body's ideal weight. 2) Your pregnant. If so, Congratulations! 3) Your body is retaining water 4) The fat you've lost from your diet has been turned into muscle from your working out. Your figure should improve though if this is the case. I hope your able to get back on track.

O my god! tacocat! I f*king found you! :D
