He'd probably be called a player or something, a word that isn't degrading or dehumanizing. Some people are more open to the idea of hook-ups and one night stands, some aren't, but it doesn't make them any less of a person. It just means their preferences differ from yours. Calling people names for living life the way they choose to enjoy it, so long as it's not hurting anyone, is rude. Like, what's the problem with it?

That's not the issue. I am letting her live her life. I literally cannot stop her. If my best friend or I had a one night stand, we would also be skanks. That's just how it is. Problem is, we're all so damn sensitive nowadays that we can't take a little insult. We need to man up, accept that we're all a little skanky sometimes, and move on. Stop crying "poor me" over dumb shit.

Both the words "*****" and "****" have worthlessness worked into the meaning- they both mean "a woman who has slept around to the point of worthlessness." Sleeping around doesn't diminish one's worth, therefore no one is a "*****" or a "****." Some people want to change the meaning of the word "****" so that it only means someone who sleeps around and doesn't have the implication of worthlessness and then apply it to themselves. That's fine, they can do that if they want, I think they're fighting a losing battle but okay. But calling someone other than yourself a "****" or "*****" without their consent in an insulting way isn't okay because you're endorsing and promoting the idea that having sex diminishes someone's value when that is not the case. I'm definitely not someone who sleeps around, but I think people should be able to sleep around without judgment provided it's all consensual and stuff.

What you're calling getting offended is just people calling people on their disrespectful behavior. @121 - Well said. It's pretty much the same as using the N-word. There are black people who use the word to refer to themselves, but if you used it in an FML the way OP used the word *****, you'd just come off as a racist. Basically both words are to sort of thing you use only when you know how the people around you are going to react to them. They're not words for a public forum, especially when you are clearly someone who wouldn't apply the word to yourself.

I thoroughly believe that **** and ***** are not in the same catergory as nigga. It's just that for some reason, we handle it offensively when it doesn't have to be. If we stop getting upset about it, it won't be such a "bad word". Trying to make it meaningless is a good thing. I don't expect you people to agree with me.
