Today, my boyfriend was cooking me dinner. He walked away and I decided to help by giving the pan of veggies a sautee flip. My boyfriend failed to mention that he had just pulled that pan out of a 500 degree oven. FML

if he walked away then why is it his fault for not mentioning how hot it was?

Yeah, your boyfriend sure failed.. You fail at life.

Way to try to have too much control. YDI for being a little crazy.

This is why NO ONE should ever interfere in cooking, they do stupid things. Like in my foods class, I was making some easy pasta stuff, then while i turn my back to cut some tomatoes, one of my partners throws two cups of cheese into the simmering water with pasta. I had to stay late to clean off the cheese that sank and burnt to the pot. So yeah, YDI.

Why would you stay late to fix someone else's mistake?

Because in a kitchen, it's everyone's responsibility to clean. -from a fellow cook

Well, of course he failed to mention it, you weren't supposed to touch it! YDI

Haha yes I moderated this and hoped it would get posted. Let him do something nice for you. #16 said it.

put a baking soda/water paste all over your hands, then an hour or so later, put toothpaste all over them, then keep switching between the two for a whole day.

That's why you stay out of the way when someone else is cooking unless they ask for help. YDI

Why would he put a pan in the oven? If the OP was flipping the food, I'm assuming it was a frying pan, which are meant to be used on the stove. You wouldn't reasonably expect a pan handle to be hot. Not the OP's fault.

Are you kidding me? Restaurants do it all the time when cooking meats. Totally the OP's fault.

really actually common practice, for a lot of things. helps them cook all the way through

Hurr, I did something stupid and my boyfriend didn't stop me, FML.
