Today, my boyfriend was cooking me dinner. He walked away and I decided to help by giving the pan of veggies a sautee flip. My boyfriend failed to mention that he had just pulled that pan out of a 500 degree oven. FML

if he walked away then why is it his fault for not mentioning how hot it was?

Wow. Way to push the blame on your boyfriend...you're the idiot for not NOTICING that it had just come out of the oven. And whenever you're cooking, you should always be aware and check to make sure things aren't going to toast your fingers off and use a potholder or something. I wonder what else you try to lay blame on your boyfriend for.

YDI - By your own words he was cooking you dinner. So the only reason for you to touch the pan without him first telling you to would be that you were a complete idiot. You weren't cooking dinner together, he was cooking for you. There was no reason at all for him to tell you anything. Just as there wasn't a solitary reason for you to consider touching the pan

you failed to mention you were retarded

*there are recipes where you would put vegetables in a frying pan in the oven. You definately would not want to give the pan a sautee flip after removing them, as that would keep the vegetables from cooking the way you were intending. Generally this involves using a good amount of olive oil coating the vegetables

#11 "failing to mention" is more or less an expression. doesn't mean he FAILS. fyl cuz that suckss

what the hell? is it your boyfriends responsibility to tell you each and everything that might do you harm? Oh i have to go take a piss babe but dont play with those knifes they might cut you and dont stick your finger in any of the sockets... He didn't fail to mention shit because its not his job to babysit you.

"Failed to mention" - as if he was supposed to tell you? It's not his job to tell you that pans can be hot while cooking.

I put frying pans in the oven if the think I cooked is ready before I expected it to be and the other things aren't done so it stays warm. For future reference though if they don't ask for your help don't touch anything. I hope you ran your hands under cold water for a few minutes and don't put any creams or pastes on your skin the heat will make them hot and they will burn you too and no ice, that will give you a freeze burn.
