Today, I got my annual blood test. The nurse was inexperienced and it took her several tries to insert the needle properly. When I get back home, my fiancé starts yelling at me and storms out. The reason? I am a recovering drug addict and my arm appeared as if I had been shooting up. FML

Hey, at least you're recovering and you have a fiance. That's good. Your life is good.

I'm recovering to. I'm really sorry to hear about that. hope things get worked out quickly.

are u serious? your fiance doesnt know you well enough to know that you dont do drugs? are you marrying him after knowing him for what, 3 days?

She did drugs, that's the whole point. People who've had an addiction have a larger chance to get back in their old habits. Try to read the whole FML before commenting.

Just explain it to him. Easy fix. Not a FML.

wow...that sucks ass. I'd sue the nurse if your fiance broke up with you...

Ahh, that great American fix-all: "Sue the bastard!"...no wonder we're ******.

Yay for suing! Can I sue myself? that'd be fun

Well. At least he didn't break up with you. I mean, you could just tell him what happened instead of wasting your time posting it on the internet...?

Like, he didnt know you were going to the doctor for a blood test? And you couldnt just explain the nurse wasnt so good? (Does this actually happen though? More than a second attempt?)

It really does - especially with people whose veins or circulation suck anyway, but sometimes nurses just have bad days.

Or the veins in the arm are weak and collapse easily from having needles inserted into them too many times.

You should have showed her how to properly insert a needle into the arm then haha

Kudos on the recovery. Just look on a bright side. :D

YDI for not showing the nurse how to insert a needle properly.
