Its possible he could have been joking, if someone was exceptionally fat it would be hard to see them because they would cover the whole area and hide the other person from view. He may not be taking about you. He could have just heard a one liner like that, thought it was funny and texted it to you, dim witted as he may be for not actually explaining it. Or maybe he's just a dick

I love how everyone assumes OP needs to lose weight or gained weight recently. I once dated a douche like OP's boyfriend who "loved me" in the beginning, I never gained an ounce, then one day he dumped me, saying I was just too fat for him. I was 5'6", 130 lbs. I think what brought it on was a party with his friends and their girlfriends, who were an average of 5'2", 100 lbs. I looked like a giant, but I wasn't fat.

He obviously does not love you very much if he cares about what other people may think. Don't make yourself miserable over him. There are others out there who will be proud to be seen with you! Live life, be happy.
