Today, I was on the bus when a really cute guy came on. The only seat left was the one next to me, so I smiled and waited for him to sit down. He looked at the seat, looked at me, and opted to stand until his stop. FML

Theory: Maybe the guy in this FML is the same guy in the previous FML about the painful bumhole. That explains why he didn't sit down!

I don't think it had anything to do with how the OP's attractiveness. Maybe he the kind of person who likes their space. Or possibly the way the OP smiled creeped him the **** out.

to all you people saying "he's a jerk! he's not worth it blah blah blah" have you ever though the op is not attractive or maybe he was being polite or being shy. think before you speak. not every girls is "hot".

He was probably shy. As a person who takes the bus and is terribly shy, I'd much rather stand than sit next to any strangers, even when he's a cute guy. :T

Men have been taught to avoid speaking to or sitting next to women on public transportation because so many women are harassed there, and to avoid being That Annoying Unwanted Guy, they might stand instead of taking the only empty seat next to a woman. Smiling doesn't help, because many women smile as a defense mechanism. If you wanted him to sit, you should have just invited him to do so.
