I would not eat food from a stranger.
I am celiac too so I feel your pain. Sometimes people's ignorance takes infinitive levels.
Job interviews are two way streets. Looks like he blew the interview.
Coeliac or not, you should be able to just say 'no, thank you' to a sandwich without someone hassling you about it, at an interview or anywhere else.
Its a good thing you left. No one should have to put up with someone like that. Way to stand up for yourself!
From what I've heard amongst various doctors, Celiac Disease is very rare. Many people SAY they have it because eliminating wheat has helped their symptoms, but that does not mean they have the disease. Very few people actually get the blood test done, and even fewer get positive results. I'm inclined to believe it mostly is a fad, but I do know the real disease exists and can make someone's life that much harder.
All tests lose their efficiency after the person has started eating gluten-free. So when a person discovers that removing gluten from their diet makes them feel better, it's most likely too late to get a diagnosis, as most people won't want to start eating gluten and become sick again. That is why there are so few confirmed diagnoses.
It's not that rare. About 1 in 130 have it, according to Coeliac UK.
Same happens for me! But with latex allergy.. Pisses me the **** off!
My mom has Celiac. For sure. Blood test was done. Even touching bread can cause a reaction. I'm gluten intolerant, so it just bugs my stomach. It doesn't matter whether you have Celiac, intolerance, or if you made your own personal choice to avoid wheat. No one should push food on you like that. BTW, screw everyone on here who thinks celiac is BS or that "its all in your head". I suppose its all in my mom's head when she basically slips into a coma. Or in my head when I have intestinal problems. Anyone who says that obviously has no food allergies themselves
My cousin is a high risk of cancer from it
153 undiagnosed coeliac disease is very dangerous thing. my uncle developed intestinal tumours and I think there was a tumour on his liver so he had to have half his liver removed. all due to not being diagnosed soon enough. in some places if a person is diagnosed with IBS they get a coeliac test too. this would've saved so many years of illness and damage in me and a lot of people too
You probably should not work for somebody like that.

What a douche! I hate people like that! Better luck next time OP.
While I do tend to think gluten free eating is a bit of a fad it takes a special kind of stupid to think a coeliac is following a trend. FYL OP, there's more jobs out there!
