It's true..
I have it my mom has it and my brother has it I know how you fee it's spelt celiac by the way
Not in the UK.
Oh haha I'm from America that's why
What a prick. Dodged a bullet, imagine working for that idiot.. all the crumbs he'd leave everywhere, then accidental glutening.
You should probably complain to his boss. That's a kind of discrimination you don't really expect when you've got an autoimmune disease. The worst thing about it should just be being awkward about restaurants. I've just started a new job and people are trying really hard to understand the coeliac thing, but my boss asked me yesterday if I could "grow out of it". So it appears ignorance is still widespread...
I have had similar run ins with people about my Celiac's drives me crazy! I actually had a guy argue with me in line at the grocery store when he saw what I was buying
Hi guys! I'm OP. Kinda suprised this was published, as I earlier got an email it wouldn't.. So, somebody left out the worst part of this fml: the guy who was interwieving me was a doctor. Yup. A doctor. I know now where not to go if I get sick.. Somebody asked about my reaction to gluten. I've had the disease all my life, and some people throw up, some get stomach pains... I get really, really, seriously sick. Like, end up in the hospital due to dehydration (caused by diarrhea and vomiting) and blood pressure fall - sick. Like, I could die - sick. I am properly diagnosed, and have always had to live gluten free. I get that some people would look at it as a fad, because some "oh, I'm so healthy" - people have started avoiding gluten. I know some of those, and they would ask for glutenfree bread at a cafe, and then drink a normal beer. But literally pushing a sandwich to your face... That's what made me leave. I believe I said "thank you for your time, but I do not see us working together in the future" Thanks for all the support!
go you OP! I'm glad you left, some people are so bloody stupid it's unreal! I was diagnosed when I was 17 after more than 6 years of being ill and no-one believing me except my mum. we think it's because of the years of damage I'm still seriously ill years later. I hope you find a better place to work and stay gluten free forever!
#133 Coeliac disease is a very serious issue for people that have it. To suggest to OP that she has a bite anyway is outrageous. Do some research and find out just what happens to the insides of a person with the disease when they have just a crumb of something containing gluten.
I'd have to agree with him. That whole gluten free thing is crap
Gluten free is a Fad, Celiac disease is not.

What a douche! I hate people like that! Better luck next time OP.
While I do tend to think gluten free eating is a bit of a fad it takes a special kind of stupid to think a coeliac is following a trend. FYL OP, there's more jobs out there!
