Today, I was writing an email to our entire company regarding a fundraiser we are taking part in for children and adults with disabilities. I was rushing to get the email out and hit send before I realized that instead of "Best Regards" I had typed "Best Retards" as the closing line. FML

The thing with proofreading is, sometimes I proofread BEFORE putting my signature/farewell at the end. That could have been the case.

I hope you sent a follow-up e-mail apologizing for the error. If not, then you deserve everything you receive because you're dumb for not double-checking.
Man...I really hope most people at your company have senses of humor (and that you immediately sent out another email saying it was an unfortunate typo!).
Hopefully they'll just think you added it as some kind of +1 to your real name.
They won't suspect a thing in that case.
ahh just like at berkeley.. where in some schedule program there was a Black History Linch instead of lunch... when someone saw it they printed & gave out stickers with the word "lunch" on them so you could fix your little booklet

#42 making words bad is such a made up PC culture sack of bullshit. This person obviously cares for differently abled people, otherwise he/she wouldn't be doing the fundraiser. Words are only bad in the context where the intention is to harm another person in some way. This is funny because the general population is so ingrained in PC semantics that they can't grasp the concept of a meaningless typo.
