Caught in the act

Today, I was on the computer in the library on campus. I was Facebook-stalking a really cute girl that I often see on campus. As I'm looking at her profile pictures, I turn around and the girl is standing right behind me. She gave me a disgusted look and walked off. FML

Facebook 101: You NEVER Facebook stalk in public places. Or even when another person is in the room. Or with the door unlocked. That is extremely private business, left for the bedroom or a slumber party. YDI.

i dont think he meant literally "stalking" he was just looking through her facebook page. dont most of us do that to people we like? its a little stalkerish but i mean come on, if you dont want ppl looking dont post it.

Definitely. Either her page was public or you're on her friendlist. Either way, she's the **** for trying to act like she isn't flattered. Unless you were being creepy about it, I don't see what the big deal is.

um i would be pretty creeped out to if some dude was staring at my profile pic at the library. sure its public, but you even admit your stalking her on facebook, so just because her pic is public, doesnt make right. it makes you look like a weirdo. thats why do this stuff in private... even though its still creepy.

Looking at a profile that's private isn't stalking. There's practically nothing to see. If you don't want people to look at your profile, make it ******* private. Simple as that.

Yes, being stalked is creepy. I've been there. Clearly you haven't if you think that someone looking at information and drunken photos that you willingly made public and available for all to see on the internet constitutes stalking. Again, if that creeps you out, you should really rethink having a public profile.

Facebook stalking is a non-term. Is it also stalking if I look at the pictures of a model in an advertisement? What you put in public places (like facebook) is meant to be looked at. By everyone. For any reason, including random browsing.
